80kms away from 8000kms on my original chain. Still shows less than .5

Lay off the throttle, man. I am comparing my Bosch chain use to my regular bike chain use. They all use the same components that will tell me a lot about the chain we all use. I need to look at the mileage on my regular bike, but I need to almost double it as I am almost double the time on my commutes. It’s got a little ways to .5, but I don’t think I have much more than 1000 miles on it. That would be almost 2000 miles on the Bosch. I get about 2500 on a normal chain and about 3500 on a e bike chain on my bosch bikes.

I think it means that he will listen to you intently because you don't have a throttle.

On the other hand, he won't listen to a word I say cuz I do.

And I don't have Specialized equipment like he does, so he calls me a poor man.
(Although I did spend over $8000 so far on my ebikes, and all the tools and fancy greases.)

Dave, I have to find a chain used on a full power mid-drive e-bike that didn't stretch at 0.5% after 1600 km or didn't damage the small cassette cogs after 3200 km yet. On the other hand, I cannot deny your statement about the chain not stretched near 8000 km.

It is a Lithuanian tale.
The Polish author Władysław Sieroszewski wrote the "Tale of The Iron Wolf" in 1911. Now, the meaning:

• In Polish, the phrase "the tale of the iron wolf" has become a phraseological unit denoting an incredible story of dramatic events that is difficult to believe.
• This name also refers to the Lithuanian legend of the founding of Vilnius by Duke Gediminas.

And I just added a mid-drive to my hub-drive, so I'm actually using my chain now, so I can legitimately participate in this thread.

Yes, he is.
I do have quite the imagination, but about this I'm dead serious. Some people think they know everything I suppose...
And yes, I got a Park Tool chain cleaning kit, used the included degreaser, and immediately started using Squirt lube.
I'm not insinuating that Squirt is the reason, but it obviously doesn't hurt. My suspicion is that the primary contributor to the longevity of the chain is the fact that I never shift under load, ever. Secondarily I'd say keeping the cadence up. YMMV, and his obviously does...

That's Huge !!

I used to deliver pizza and drive the Living Snot outta my car.

I got less than 40,000 km on a clutch and had to replace it three times.
I smoked third gear by "power shifting" into third.
I broke my shifter completely off and had to drive 100 km stuck in third gear. (I welded it back on )


My last car died of old age with over 250,000 km on the original clutch.
