Thank you for letting me invade your space !
I collect and build vintage bikes from the 80's to pre war era .
I'm interested in exploring the electric world and would like to build my first mid motor cruiser .
I sure I will have alot of questions and would like to be able pick your brains .

Thank you

Welcome to the new version of an old hobby.
I bought electricity to deal with 25 mph headwinds in May and September, on 27 mile fixed length rides. We didn't used to get that much wind until October or March. I like pedaling, but not for 6 hours at 130-140 bpm.
I was unable to find a 5 speed freewheel cluster for my 1986 Schwinn Mountain bike when I wore the tips off 3rd. So I bought a 6 speed, that broke the axle because of my enormous 170 lb weight. Then I bought a 7 speed, that dropped the balls on the road about 2000 miles. Things get cheaper all the time! And less useful. The 8 speed shimano I've been riding since 2018 has gone 6000 miles without trouble - I guess it is premium grade.
Enjoy changing your chain. My first 8 speed chain lasted 5000 miles since I have a geared hub motor, on the front wheel.
Happy shopping.
