There is plenty of choice for motors on the e-bike market

We hope we are not skipping your favourite motor. Although we don’t pretend to be exhaustive, we hope that this post will let you grasp ebike motors basics, enabling you to choose better.

eBike24's reasonably comprehensive [?] list of ebike drive units can be found here.

Have they missed any models/brands?

Rocky Mountain emtbs have their own 104 nm powerful motor called the Dyname 4.0 motor. Don't know if they developed it themselves or it's third party.

Spanish brand BH has a lightweight motor on their road bikes; the iAerolight range with the BH2EXMAG lightweight motor with 65nm. Again don't know if it's developed in house or a re badged motor.

Bafang make a lightweight mid drive motor called the EON DRIVE in conjunction with Andorra EMTB Brand Forestal for the Forestal Siryon.

There are a number of European or Chinese motors you see pop up at EMTB shows on YT and are used by individual small brands but are not widespread and I don't know if they are successful.
