E-bikes should get their own, dedicated tire designs. Mid-fat for more of the suspension & comfort benefits of balloon tires, without some of the limitations all-out fat tires. Steel belted for the ultimate protection against flats. A little heavier, but these are e-bikes!

I think we will be seeing something like this in the future.

Check out Schwalbe Marathon & Marathon Plus and Continental Touring Plus; these are heavy duty tires with either a kevlar band or special compound thick tread for better flat resistance. Both come with a cool reflective strip on the sidewall and weigh in at a nice hefty 940-950 grams. They aren't the widest tires, but there are others made by these manufacturers that are and will have some of the more sturdy features that are good for and ebike.

I've got the Marathons with reflective stripe, good tires! Don't want anything heavier! The only change I would make is the white reflective stripe, wish it weren't white. 3M makes Scotchlite that's black and it's almost as reflective as the white. I'm just not a fan of whitewalls, but want them reflective... so I'll have to get into the tire bizo_O
