SPH / COBI question

Hoping one of the Bosch guys can answer this: Can you confirm that the power displayed in the fitness module is the user power and if so is this actually calculated from the torque sensor data from the DU?

The documentation on the COBI developer site seems to imply otherwise:

userPower
The expressed power from the user. A heart-rate sensor is the primary source for calculating this, but if it is missing - current bike's speed, road grade, etc. are used. Also the biker's body-metrics are always taken into account. The value is in Watts.

Can you provide a link to where you found this, please? I will take a look.

"Rider Power" should always be expressed in Watts, and is a calculation based on torque, cadence, and maybe few other things from what I understand (I am not a software/hardware engineer.) The description you quoted in italics from the website appears to be describing the estimation of "Calories Burned," but I'm not sure.

At first glance, the language in the line from the website does not really make sense to me.

The definition in question is under the rideService section.

BTW, I originally just wanted to figure out if the watts shown in COBI are rider power or total power (ie rider power plus motor power). Now that I've ridden more, I'm sure that it's not including the motor power.

You are correct- the watts shown are rider power only.

This appears to be a typo of some sort. I'll report it. Thank you for bringing it to our attention!
