Well I guess it's rollover season here in Alberta.
Just out for a quick ride to a friends and back - maybe 10 minutes on bike.
From in front of my house when I got home.

White truck in background involved.
I think Jeep was turning left from our alley and truck was going west from our corner (maybe 100 meters).

As usual, likely too much speed and bad drivers - turning left when you shouldn't and somebody speeding INTO a residential area.
So front right of Jeep, while turning left catches rear bumper of truck and it flips (is how I think it could have happened).

Nobody hurt thankfully - air bags did their jobs.

The modern safety features are amazing; today people walk away from accidents that would have been more "Bodies by Fisher" 30 years ago. Unfortunately, the drivers are even worse now ...

For sure. Jeeps aren't high on my list either but a friend who owns two including a powerful Trailhawk 4xe hybrid swears by them. Not sure exactly how it happened but thankful that we arrived at the time we did.

We like our 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee a lot, and the 1989 was great, too. Neither ever seemed rollover-prone, and sample of 2 crashes proves nothing.

You’re right. It wasn’t my intention to single out the Jeep brand as being prone to rollovers. Heck, it could have been any other make or model on both of those occasions. I would say that historically the brand may not have the most stellar record in terms of reliability which likely has influenced my decision not to purchase one. Mind you neither does Volvo and I’ve owned three of them. However, there are also exceptions and more recently the newer Grand Cherokee models which have received five-star ratings.

The Jeep Cherokee got a bad ( or just worse, maybe) reputation for rolling over and catching fire. Check YouTube for videos...
I owned one a decade ago, it was a good vehicle, not great but OK, both on and off road. I doubt that I would buy another unless it was a super deal, but it was OK.

Did you pitch a tent and wait 12 hours in line to get it, like I see on TV? :)

hell no. I don't upgrade very often anymore. just did it through apple so I could get the 340.00 trade in from apple for my 13. hell I have seen much longer lines for hello kitty. I much rather have the phone delivered.
