Something to bear in mind: Adding width and padding to extend a butt-limited riding range may seem reasonable, but it's often the wrong way to go — and not just for performance riding.
Read up on your "sit bones" and how to make sure they're properly supported while minimizing contact with the rest of the saddle.
The hunt for the right saddle can be exasperating and expensive. I learned a lot from a series of trial saddles from a nearby REI store. Their large selection and generous return policy made it possible to try each for weeks and still get a full refund.
