A couple of days of relatively warmer temperatures here this weekend, then likely snow coming back tomorrow. Taking advantage of the break. Think I have my cold weather gear sorted! Meanwhile, 30km in the park, seeing virtually no one.

The snow melted enough to get to the top of Lookout on Saturday; some cool clouds, too. The San Juan islands and Puget Sound peek out in the background.

Haven’t been able to ride for a couple of days with high winds and snow. Calm and sunnier today.

my wife took her Tongsheng assisted Dahon Briza to a hilly area where she hasn't been able to ride a regular bike for the past couple years because of knee issues. She was so happy to be able to ride there again.

Fresh snow today. Schwalbe Marathon GT 365 tires work quite well as long as the snow isn’t too deep, or has frozen ruts. I have appreciated the removal of the chain guard a few times as I am often off the road, and chain issues sometimes arise. Also, really noticed the need for spiked pedals as the flat parts iced up today, but not the spikes... they connected well with my boots. I now have Stan’s in my rear tire after a flat a few weeks ago. Thinking I should put it in the front tire, as I really don’t relish changing a flat in freezing conditions.

We went from having a green Christmas Eve to a foot of snow on Christmas Day here on the Ontario shore of Lake Huron. Some pictures from my Boxing Day ride... a fairly brief one as some of the roads were icy.

Pictures of where I ride: Right now I only ride on this private ranch I manage. We have varying activities and many sights to behold.

The river runs right through the middle of it and is the main feature. Everybody likes to swim, paddle board, canoe and fish. This is the top pool and there are 6 others, some bigger and lots of running bubbling rivulets in between the pools. About 4 miles of live water as they like to call it here in Texis as the natives often pronounce it.

We have lots and lots of these. This one was nibbling away outside my window.



We have far too many of these and controlling them is top priority. TOP priority.

Sometimes we get floods. Little floods and every couple or three years big floods.

When it rains substantially ( once in three years about ) we get these.



We have hundreds of Axis deer too. The species is from India. They run wild all over the Hill Country of Texas. This one is just sleeping as he is being moved to a new home.



Small flood. Same road I show during dry times in my Bolton Bikes thread bragging about my ascension skills.

We have a few of these. Not like the old days however prior to the hog invasion. We figure hogs eat them.

And here is my good neighbor Vernon who loves to fish for cats. That's a nice Yellow Cat he's got. Eatin size. Vernon raises Blue Lacy dogs like mine ... which Vernon gave to me.
