shorter handlebars?

Does anyone make shorter bars? I would like something flat like the stock but maybe an inch or so shorter on each side. I guess I can trim mine down but just wondering if I can buy shorter ones.

Generally people get out the old hack saw for that. A lot of bars will have marks on both sides for even trimming.

Have any of you guys shortened up your bars? What does it do for the handling? Better or worse?

I've cut off about 30mm off each side, for commuting and lane splitting it's much easier to squeeze in-between cars.
Makes it a little quicker to steer but not twitchy to me at all. Only thing I don't like is by the time I've mounted my mirror there isn't much room between the stem and grips if you like to rest your hands on that part of the bars.
Total bar width is now 570mm, wouldn't ride this narrow on my off-road bike though.

Technically speaking you mean narrower ... i think. When I hear short bars I think short stem - might be just me
