Shorter crank arms on a pivot shuttle

Hello i have a shimano steps e8000 pivot shuttle - i broke my knee recently riding it in whinlatter hit a hidden rock with the pedal by the side of the trail. I have read a lot of people on e bikes fit shorter 152mm crank arms and i wondered if anyone has done it with the steps system and what the changes feel like. Thanks
