I can't see a review discussion post for this bike so thought I'd start one

Specs - 48v 17ah (upgradable to 25ah and 1000watt ( don't think it gives the full 1000watt but close )

I have the Shengmilo mx03 it's an excellent bike if you know what you want it for, I did 29 miles with more than 60%battery left this was on pas2 mainly flat with some short hills , hills are no problem if you switch to biggest cog and choose the right assist(check the Relive link)
I checked the next day on pas3 same route and had 30% battery left ,
I went out again 2 days after and thought I'd give the motor a test (hills) I got 27 miles until battery depleted but I did go up some rather steep hills and had to work on the steepest climbs but I did stay in the saddle ,
Overall I'm happy with the bike for getting out and about if you want to climb mountains get a mid drive motor ,I pedal in manual mode meaning I use half energy and it assists when needed and if I go over 16mph in pas2 the current fluctuates from 2-1 on the display to conserve battery( I usually ride in 2/3 pas but found 2 is the best otherwise I'll miss the scenery,
Also @Jenny Mao can also provide the new 48v 25ah battery which fits which I might purchase later on I think it uses Samsung 5000 cells so should see good range and power
Any questions or mods anyone has done good or bad is welcome

It's only 18amp controller so possibly only giving 864watts but that's good enough tbh it pulls plenty good I could always change controller but why mess with it if its OK or I shunt it but risk damage it so I'll leave a it is.
Still better than 250watt UK standard so I'm happy for £1100 for the bike
 
What motor is it?
Bafang?
I don't see the logo so I was just curious.
It maybe a rebranded motor I'm not sure but it's better than any 250watt motor I've had and pulls up hill fine ,maybe someone else will know so I've attached picture thanks

You might want to replace the crank and chainring soon.
That chainring is so cheap that it will bend.

If you ever have chain dropping problem or noise from chain, that could be bent chainring.
It will probably be straight now, as it is brand new, but in my experience they bend pretty easily after a while.

I kept buying that same thing three times until I resort to Deckas chainring as someone here on EBR mentioned.

hi, I have mounted the KT CONTROLLER 25A to my Mx03 bike with the LCD8H display.
the technicians warned me not to exceed 25a because with the 30a there is a serious risk of burning everything if you don't have a bafang engine.
it now has much more torque and smoother acceleration
I notice it especially in the climbs.
the display finally marks the wattage in real time, and pushes to the maximum to 1100watts effective.
the maximum speed has remained unchanged but has more power when needed.
the cruise control works, and also the original light and horn of the bike.
the controller has a delivery that simulates the torque sensor and seems to optimize the autonomy which seems to me to have remained unchanged, but I have not yet had the opportunity to test it.
probably with the 25ah battery it would improve further.

i'm waiting for the 25ah battery test you ordered.

Hi Christian thanks for the update that's great news I'll probably end up buying the same as that's what I've been reading about , was a straight forward swap with the wiring a or do you have details where to connect each wire as colour difference maybe? @Jenny Mao is going to ship the battery this week fingers crossed its been a hard covid time in shanghai but she's very professional and answers chat
I'll test the battery thoroughly before I upgrade the controller etc but tbh I don't need massive torque but power does weaken when below 50%battery so I'm hoping the 25ah battery will keep the power for longer and very good range so I might be happy enough ,I'll keep updating this thread and thanks for your updates
 
It is 30amp BMS that used for Dorado 25Ah, so 20A or max 25A controller is suggested. The low discharging current will prolong the battery lifetime.
 
Hi guys received 25ah battery today from @Jenny Mao got to goto work now so I'll update tomorrow, I did put it on the bike and everything fits and turns on , I'll update tomorrow on my day off cheers guys,, I'll show you what it looks like tomorrow on the bike ,,here's the weight difference

Had a quick ride out today mostly steep hills, covered 21 miles and voltage went from 54v to 51.5 using power assist 2-5 (hills was steep) , battery still showing full, the power delivery is smooth with no battery sag at all , I was smiling away going up the hills using the right gears as appropriate and using good maintained speed up the steep hills I'll finish the battery tomorrow it will be mainly flat riding, I want to see if there's much battery sag near the end of battery and then give it a good charge , the battery is a little bit bulkier than original but not too much(see pics first 2 are 25ah battery)
So far I'm happy with the performance but much more testing needed.

The 25Ah looks perfectly fit on the shengmilo mx03. Thanks for sharing us so many pics and the real testing experience.

Did another 28 miles yesterday so 28+21=49 Miles and still more than half battery left 47.6 volts remaining ill finish it off before I recharge, battery is exceeding my expectation because I have been using higher power assist and plenty of steep long hills ,definitely a 80-100 mile battery depending what it's used for ,I'm a happy customer and @Jenny Mao has been excellent at customer service even through covid delays she is definitely recommended for batteries and will help you out and information given ,, thx again I'll update again with a video

I also wanted to know if your rear shock absorber is still original or if you have replaced it? If you swapped it. What length did you choose? The support told me 170mm but there are none in this size.
I think its a 190mm or 200mm.

In any case, I'm very happy with the bike. It's really fun. I'll take some photos soon and share them here.

By the way my last upgrade will be also a new Battery. :)

Seatpost is 30.4 , I haven't bought a rear shock as yet but it's recommended for a 190mm it fits best and raises the pedals a bit more from the ground(that's what I will be buying)
The 25ah battery is faultless from @Jenny Mao and fits great with plenty of milage,
Upgrades I've made is wider bars with a raise and a redshift suspension handlebar stem and a suntour suspension seatpost I had to buy a 30.4-27.2 shim so it would fit and more grippy pedals, thanks it's a great bike
 
Update on range on the first charge of the battery is 79 miles and 42.3v remaining could probably push another 5-10 miles or more if I wanted to take it to 40v but I'll leave it at a safe LVC, I've cycled in normal conditions using power assist 2-5 where needed and also give it a few blasts at high speed (28mph)
Cycling conditions was very steep hills and moderate hills and plenty of off road terrain flat trails , the battery sag is hardly noticeable all the way down to 42v ,very smooth performance overall (my range anxiety has now gone)
Another thing to note is the new 25ah has updated connections and can now mange 4 amps for charging (talk to @Jenny Mao if yours is compatible) new ones should be fine
So I'm now charging at 4 amps from 42v I'll update later how long it takes
This battery is a beast and performance is excellent, any questions please ask

Anyone had issues with orignal shockabsorber mounted on the frame? Mine gives a load squeeking sound when running over bumps.
Suggestions? Replace or would some lubrication solve the issue?
