Searching For Commuter E bike Perfection

I'm looking for opinion and advice.
Since 2014, I've been commuting about 1500 miles a year on a decent e-bike. The EG Zurich is an entry-level commuter style which has been a very reliable "steed". Having gone through the ordeal of replacing the battery, and still enjoying the sensation of biking electric, I figure the time is now for an upgrade. Today there seems to be quite an assortment of Commuter style e-bikes available priced under $2000. My quest for an upgrade is to purchase a fully outfitted commuter bike for less than $2000. The ideal configuration would be 700c wheels, with a suspension system, a 500+ watt rear hub motor (geared or direct drive), and a 48-volt battery with 600+/- watt-hour capacity. Any comments or suggestions would be helpful.

Let me suggest that you go to the "Categories" section on the EBR home page, then select the 28 mph Speed Pedelec section from the menu. That should put you in the ballpark. Juiced Bikes has a couple that would meet your specs -- that's what I went with -- but there are quite a few that I looked at when I was shopping around.

Agreed with Bruce. The Juiced Cross Current S is designed for what you are looking for. A high speed long range purpose built commuter bike. It has 3 battery options available. The second level battery is 48V, 19.2 Ah which works out to 920 Wh. Price is $1999. Really haven't found anything else that comes very close for the price.

I started commuting on a Juiced Crosscurrent S last week. It'll handle my 18 mile round trip on a single charge of the standard 12.8 Ah battery, but I got a second charger to keep at work so I don't have to drain the battery on windy days. The 19.2 Ah battery would be an excellent upgrade, but I was wary of getting caught in the pre-order waiting game. I figure I'll just buy the better battery in a year or so. The way the tech is improving on these things maybe the price will come down. Fingers crossed!
This bike handles really well and is more fun than I imagined possible.
