Hey all, just a quick intro. Been lurking and playing with e-bikes/ scooters since 2009. I enjoy them from an engineering (play thing) point of view and I'm often buying broken bikes to see how they work and fixing them back up. I ride a horrid looking (no one has tried to steal it yet) Sprinter. I had an emmo urban parts bike that is now nearly rebuilt back to new (I kept finding bits to put it back together). A motorino XPV and an XPn. I just got my hands on a beat up EM1 (yes someone in 12 short months butchered and broke the thing badly) I planned to swap the rear motor out for a 48v one, pop my lyen controller on it and run a 52 volt pack I built for the motorino, but now I'm not so sure. Anyhow I decided its time to sign up get a bit more involved.

nothing that hasn't been done before, soldered rows of 5 18650 cells, for the motorino I paralleled 3 packs and repeated 14 times to make a box pretty much the same as 2 20Ah SLA's , so a 15p 14s pack. I have a 45Amp BMS to match the output of the pack. the cells were rated around 2.5 i think, I brought a load of them cheap and build them as I need them.

Thank you for your quick response, I will play around with the idea of building a new pack once I get some free time, way too busy now.

The smart money buys the little stuff as it takes weeks to arrive and from experience it's frustrating
