Schwalbe Super Moto-X discontinued?

Im thinking of buying the Moto-x 2.8 but the manufacturer says that i can only fit 2.6 tires. I am wondering if you guys with the Moto-x 2.8 could measure the actual tire width along with the width of the rim they are sitting on?
 
Greetings, does anyone know the correct circumference of the Super Moto X 27.5 x 2.40 (62-584) tires? Want to set my kiox correctly but dont see them listed even on Schwalbe's site.

57-584 2215 mm
60-584 2240 mm

The difference between 57-584 and 60-584 is 25mm. Thus dividing the difference of 25mm by 3 (difference between 57 & 60) gives a value of 8mm circumference per mm of tire width. Thus for a 62-584 and approximate circumference of 2246mm (2240+16) or 88.425" should be very close.
 
To be more accurate you can measure the circumference yourself at the tire pressure typical for your riding style.

but 54 to 57 is 20mm (some men just want to watch the world burn) close enough for my needs

For greater precision you could take a tape measure and actually measure the circumference of your tire on your rim. Different manufacturers specify different circumference on the same size tire, based on tread and other factors, i guess. The tape measure method would be the most accurate for your bike and settings.

Here’s something to ponder
Wouldn’t the vertical tyre radius measurement from the hub centre to the bottom of the tyre, (measured with the tyre fully compressed from the combined weight of the ebike, rider and any additional baggage) be more accurate
This would be the true rolling radius of the tyre

Interesting. Here's my take…
  • When a tyre is squashed by the weight of a rider, the tread is flattened; therefore, the tyre is no longer a circle.
  • The reduced distance from hub centre to the flattened section of the tyre in contact with the road is not a radius.

We're splitting hairs now to get the ultimate correct speed reading. :)
Assuming you mean where the centre of the hub intersects with a line from the middle of the tyre contact pattern with the road would be the smallest rolling radius

What I do is somewhat different! :)
  1. I trust my iPhone's GPS (running Ride with GPS) which does not require any tyre circumference measurements.
  2. On my R&M Homage I set the tyre circumference on the Kiox (without ever measuring it!:oops:) so that distance/speed are the same as measured by GPS.
  3. On my Trek Powerfly there is no way for me to adjust circumference on the Purion so I largely ignore its distance/speed readings. (Please, correct me if I'm wrong about the Purion.)
 
Thanks! I'll try the GPS trick to calibrate my tire measurement. Have you noticed that the assist acts differently based on tire circumference setting in Kiox? I'm getting drastic improvement by up-ing mine in Kiox from the stock 86.22 inches to ~88.5 (closer to actual) LBS said this shouldn't matter but I'm getting better assist up to 28mph as a result and everyone's confused. I dont want to throw off the Kiox accuracy for MPH and cheat the system in any way but my user power has dropped significantly (~<500W, down from ~800W)

Lastly, do you know of any "training-wheels limp mode" for R&M bikes that could also explain the change in performance? IE medium assist before your first 50 miles?
 
Looks like 2 of the 9 sizes are currently 'sold out' on Schwalbe's site - the other 7 sizes are available to purchase. That seems pretty normal, at any given time they seem to be out of stock of a couple sizes/variations of the more popular models. FYI, I believe the 20x4 bronze sidewall is new for MY25.
