I just cancelled a planned trip to ride the Ohio & Erie Canal Trail near Akron OH due to the recent mass shooting:

I attended college in Akron 50+ years ago and things have certainly changed since then!

Yeh if you want near Akron, go a little south and start in Clinton or canal fulton

Seems like the odds are pretty low that a second mass shooting would occur in the same locale so soon afterward. Sort of like lightning striking twice in the same place. But definitely do what feels comfortable.

Actually lightning strikes the same place all the time. Think about tall buildings and mountain tops. And speaking from personal experience, lightning can strike the same place (or nearly the same place for all practical purposes) multiple times in rapid succession. Which sucks when you are right next to it when it happens.

There are other incidents in the area as well. Back in March, a man was killed near the trail in Cuyahoga National Park:

Cuyahoga National Park is one of the most scenic parts of the Ohio & Erie Canal Trail, and a big reason to go there in the first place.

Sure, the chances of incidents like this happening are very small but as I said, why take a chance when there are many other safer places to ride.

This is a gospel true. My gf Brix who lives in South London was once walking by the Lambeth Town Hall, Brixton. Out of sudden, she could see something she could not quite understand (she wore headphones and had no situational awareness). A man with a shotgun was running straight at her. She got petrified as the man almost bumped into her! Fortunately for her, he didn't shoot. That was one of the "gang wars".

How horrific, and utterly unheard of only 20 years ago.
They are simply letting them shoot it out, theyve been interviewing the actual targets, out on trackers, Major Turkish heroin dealers, the articles almost praises their celebrity.

Would be much better for everybody to give those on the Streets proper Shelter in a closed Camp away from Town, Hustlers, Pimps and Drug Dealers. Reeducate the ones without Mental issues and make them to learn a Trade while others learning to look after the many mentally ill. No release from Camp until they have demonstrated they are fit for the outside World.

That would require us valuing people over profits. And all those good evangelical Christians in leadership who converted to the prosperity Gospel rather than the Christian gospel would actually have to learn how to be compassionate towards their fellow humans again.

we are getting closer to nationalism all the time,one reason is very few are willing to get their hands dirty these days since r reagans group( you knew ol' ronnie was a communist in his younger days?) decided to close down a whole lot of mental institutions it only made things much worse( those old bootstraps must have so much poo on them now it almost impossible to grip them to pull yourself up) america is turning into the land of impossible expectations,rather than the land of oppurtunity. community service is frowned upon by a lot of judges and commonwealth attornies these days( they want glory,money and harsh punishment) wereas it could be a force for improvement we are headed down the tubes courtesy of the"i have mine ,screw you folks"
