Riding With Motor Off

Will riding with the motor cut off cause damage to the motor/clutch? I installed a switch into the brakes motor cutoff circuit and have been riding for 15 or so miles at a time without using the motor. When I get too tired, my knee starts to act up, or the hill is just too steep I turn the motor back on.

Thank you Tora, Here in Tucson the e-Bike law states that e-Bikes must stay below 20mph. That translates to 20.000001mph can get your bike seized and a ticket. I sometimes like to take 60+ mile rides and want to be able to ration the power out to last. I swapped the 52 tooth ring for a 50/38, with the 38 being optimal for cruising around at the sub-20mph level (rode 30 miles motor off yesterday). The 50 tooth works great if I want to get "serious". Thank you for such a great bike. I'm having a ball, and my Giant is gathering dust..
