Removing Miranda ISIS Cranks

I'm stumped. I have a Haibike XDuro Trekking eBike with Miranda ISIS cranks. In previous posting on "Crank Removal" I read we should use a Park Tool CPC-44. I've got a CPC 44 but it only goes in two, to maybe three turns, then stops. I've sprayed everything with oil I tried numerous times - no luck. I started to use a wrench, but the amount of torque required I felt was excessive so I stopped out of fear of stripping the crank threads. Interesting enough I have another crank puller that threads almost all the way in, but it has the wrong head (too small) so it doesn't seat. So websites mention a Park Tool CPC-44C, but no such tool exists on the Park Tool website. I'm open to suggestions....

Did you back the tool center bolt all the way back out before threading into the crank?

Yes, I've removed cranks before and I'm aware how the tool works. However here is an update -- I took my bike to a local bicycle shop and asked them to use their Park 44 to remove the cranks. Results --> Same problem I had! Could not thread the Park tool onto the Miranda cranks. Now I had an old crank removal tool that threaded on perfectly but the tool center bolt was too small and was not replaceable with a larger tool center bolt as some crank removal tools allow (including the Park tool). We ended up putting a metal slug into the crank hole and using my old crank removal tool we were able to remove the cranks. I still don't know why the Park CPC 44 didn't fit....there is definitely an issue with the threads. I tried two Park tools and neither would thread. A mystery for sure.

I have a Haibike XDuro Trekking too with the stock cranks and I hear you. Just today I swapped those Miranda cranks for SRAM EX1s, which come with built in crank extractors and are much better quality.
I ended up having to use a puller tool to get the left side cranks off because the Miranda threads were so weak and badly cut that I stripped them out when I tried the regular crank removal tool, which I had screwed in properly and all the way. Those Miranda cranks are junk and the SRAMs only cost $55 shipped. Totally worth it.

Agree the Miranda cranks are absolute junk. Threads are misaligned. I've order up the SRAM EX1s. Thanks for the tip!
