Rear sprocket and hub issue

I forgot this is not hwere you need to spend much on better quality tools.

It is for a freewheel.

The freewheel keeps tightening up as you pedal and/or the mid-drive motor pulls on it.
It can easily go over 100 Nm

,.. the only differewnce between the park chain tool and a cheap one is a longer handle and blue plastic.

Any chain tool will work to remove a cassette from a freehub.
On a freehub the torque goes from each sprocket into the splines on the hub, so the lock ring doesn't get overtightened.

If the photo is your wheel than you have a cassette on freewheel type hub not the all in one freewheel (pignon) so if you remove the complete axle with the cassette on it you can see what is going on

Park Tool has a instructional on freehub servicing
I disassembled shimano freehub once which had pawls sticking but it may not be worth your time, unless you're curious, vs just replacing a typical Shimano or Sram $20-$30 freehub.

Hello Family,

I took the rear hub apart and posted a video. Please let me know what needs replacing or upgraded. Thanks again for all of your support.

Pawls look damaged/chipped... How are the ratchet teeth they ride into on the hub?
If it's just the pawls, they are easily replaced.
You'll have to see what parts are available.
as @fooferdoggie says. A very light coat of very light grease on assembly.

I took a couple snapshots of the video, and the ratchet teeth in the hub kinda look damaged??

If the hub needs to be replaced, then it turns into a Big Job.

Replacing the pawls might get it going, but it probably won't last too long before it breaks again?

@Yodaman1 Can you take another video of the teeth in the hub?

Hard to tell if the teeth are damaged or if it's just the grease on them..
Wipe it down and inspect for deformities

The Pawls do look to be damaged as though they weren't fully seated in the notches of hub??

I'm not sure what that washer was supposed to do but perhaps it wasn't supposed to be there, or it was the wrong thickness (shim washer) preventing the pawls from fully seating in the hub notches?

My hub motor has a shim washer on the axle so the axle nuts can be tightened up without the bearings binding.

See if your cassette is binding or rubbing on the hub housing with that washer removed.
If it seems to have clearance, then maybe that washer wasn't supposed to be there or is on the wrong spot on the axle?

1st...put the beer down when you're shooting video 🤣
That chip on the ratchet teeth looks minimal to me and replacing the hub is much more work.
If it was my bike I would replace the pawls and give it a try.

I'll replace the pawls however, are they universal for a sram 9sprocket cassette? Newbie here so be gentle.😀
