R&M Superdilite GT Rolhoff Kiox, keeps cutting out in rough terrain…All’s well on the roads but when I take the bike off road and go over some big bumps, on landing, the Kiox indicates a loss of speed but does not actually turn off. It’s as though there is a lose connection somewhere. After about 3 seconds the speed indicators comes back. Diring the 3 seconds, there is a loss of motor support also as if the motor has switch off. Anybody had the same issue and what exactly was the fault?

does the kiox wobble on the mount? I had that with my nyon and it caused the same issues. also check the wires going into the mount make sure they are solid.

Hi, yes I am aware of that possibility so I’d checked the Kiox and it is very clearly seated in the mount with no movement. I will check the wires going into the mount as my gut feeling is a lose wire. However…

I did do some further checks and isolated one of the two battery packs which seems to cause this effect while the other battery did not. I thought then that it could be the battery pack. The Kiox has an internal battery and get a signal from the motor system which is fed by the battery. It makes sense then that a faulty battery pack, with some internal intermittent fault, may cause the Kiox to lose it contol data feed and lose the speed indication as well as switch of the motor. I am trying to comfirm this as a possible faulty mode.

I found if I had my nyon scrwed down after awhile it would have issues. like not charging. I finally had to start taking it it off on a regular basis.

Sorry you say nyon screwed down ? what’s that?
there is a lock screw that can secure it to the mount so it cant be removed so it cant be stolen. sakes with the kiox ned intuvia. I had no reason to remove it so I used the screw.

OK. but an update from this end. I have managed to reposition the battery connection of the top battery within the battery compartment. The actual battery connection plug was about 2mm from its furthest position and can be adjusted by losening the two screws on the plug case. The plug slid forward 2 mm which actually makes the battery connecter fit further into the battery. So now there seems to be a better connection. I rode pit today and no problem reoccured. Lets hope that is it.
