Question On New Advanced Controller

How will this revolutionary advancement in the Bafang Ultra be adopted by all that want it? I've looked over most of the pertinent posts and I definitely want into the club. My new bike will be here in a month or so. I just have to have the new configuration. As frightened as I am over pulling my motor I will do it in a heartbeat. Is there any other way? What about an external controller? Or would it be sensible to just order the new motor/controller and swap the units? I wouldn't mind having two Ultras for when or if one dies. Then you send the original one in for conversion?

Is there any possibility of a software reconfiguration of the stock motor? Could there one day be an app that could help the tech challenged upgrade existing or converted motors for future advancements? Just spit balling here and I obviously know very little about this whole deal.

Hope these answers your questions.
  • There is no software reconfiguration of the stock controller to get the benefits of the Archon X1. If you want the new Archon X1 controller, it is a new physical controller that is swapped with the stock physical controller.
  • There is no external controller, the controller for Bafang Ultra are internal.
  • You can buy the full motor with the Archon X1 directly from WW and also ship your old motor for conversion if you want a back up motor if you can afford it.
  • WW offers firmware updates for 2 year at additional cost I believe.

Thank you for helping me out. Appreciate it. Regarding firmware updates ... does that necessitate hooking up to a Windows computer?

Not yet available but I believe firmware updates will require purchase of harnesss (cable or display) as well as software license. Its a per user license so you only have to pay for 1 no matter how many motors or controllers you have. It would be nice if this was included, but I believe the cost is to fund development. From what I can gather, Watt Wagons is the one making the push here and Exess and/or innotrace do not have this option.
