Purpose of fuze?

Nakto battery not charging, would bad fuze cause this? Or is fuze to protect motor and other electrical components. Checked continuity on fuze it is good.

Test the charger's output. That would be an easy answer. Or it could be the battery's BMS. That would be big.

That's the circuit board that controls the battery and charging circuit. (Battery Management System). If that goes, or sometimes there is a soldered-on fuse, you need to swap that board out.

As Uma said, check the charger as they are one of the most common points of failure. And if you can, check the battery voltage output right on the battery. If both show output, then your BMS board might be a suspect.

Thanks, trying to resolve issue with Nakto, they are being stubborn about replacing a new battery, we have a different charger for the same battery on a second bike , charger works ok, fuze is ok. Battery never has charged from day one.

Did it have power at all from day one? Or was it completely unresponsive since arrival?

Sounds like BMS may be the culprit, but I'd keep pestering Natko as you have warranty. As an aside, if the battery voltage drops below a certain threshold, the battery sometimes won't wake-up and accept a charge until you can boost it back above the cutout voltage. This can be a problem if it never got a proper factory charge, got run too low at some point, or just self-discharged below that point over a significant period of time. In the rare event that was the problem, there are ways to jump-start it, but they would definitely be warranty-voiding. Not the first place to look, as you (Natko) may just need to swap in a new BMS board.

Thanks for the replys, lucky I purchased this one from Mobility Paradise, and the customer support has been very helpful, the battery had a small amount of charge.

For your further research, the proper term is fuse. A fuse protects everything from a dead short in the system. It does not protect the motor from heat or over current. That is the controller's job. With a blown fuse no current moves at all from the battery, it's an open circuit.

Sorry for the spelling error, it's as good as my knowledge on e bycycle electronics..Then what is a fuse for on this battery? Our chargers are showing us the battery is charged but it will not charge, I sent those photos to Nakto

If the fuse is good, it wasn't the problem. Still, some batteries also have a fuse for the charger and a fuse for the output. Which Natko do you have? Many of them use the Silverfish with a handle, and those often have a fuse for the charger under the handle. Cartridge fuse. Comes out with Phillips screwdriver.
And just as an aside, there was a random comment made on a Nakto Youtube video on the battery that said their own battery had a second fuze on the internal wiring harness, and the stock fuse wasn't connected in that specific case. Across many manufacturers, odd construction variances and mismatched parts like that have not been completely uncommon during the COVID-induced supply chain disruptions. It has popped up in a few threads, so just something to keep in mind as a last resort if you get stuck having to open the battery up.

Sometimes, a wire just doesn't get soldered properly either and comes off internally...

Thanks,as I posted Mobility is working with me,talked to customer support they're supposed to be sending a battery 🙄.
Sounds like the external fuse is not the problem.
I think it's sad that the web is a better source of information than the customer service.
Thanks to all and Merry Christmas

I don't see a fuse, but the sole purpose of a fuse is to burn up in a dead short and prevent a fire or melt down. The fuse melts before anything else and is a safety device. Chargers usually fail before a battery pack. They are cheap disposable hardware. You really need to know the output voltage of the battery pack. A green light really means nothing if the charger has failed.
