Pot Screw

Does anybody know were the pot screw is on an Ecotric controller, and which way to turn it to increase the power, not speed?

I have a FAT26 500w

Is that the 36V controller? Not that it matters, There is no trimpot on either the 36 or 48 controllers for that model. The 48V version is faster because it's 48V, and they've limited it to 20 mph on the display, which can be adjusted by the user.

Its the 36v/13Ah. If i increased the Ah of the 36v battery by buying another battery with a higher Ah would this give me more power, not speed and would this have an effect on the controller in a bad way?

A higher Ah battery will give you more range, not more power. You would need to replace the controller to feed more power to the motor. That is assuming that the battery's current rating (C-rate) can handle it.

Thank you for your reply Run, i thought it may have been as simple as just buying another battery with a higher Ah.

It gets somewhat expensive to go from the 20 mph you probably have now to the 24 mph possible with 48V, First you need to upgrade to a 48V battery, which is about $300-400.. Then you should replace the 35V controller and it display for a 48V model. That is $100-150,

That's like half the original cost of the bike. I don't think that's worth it for a little more speed.

In my case. I had converted a few bikes before I bought the Ecotric 36V fat folder, so I had other batteries and spare electrical available,
