Possible Allant+ 9.9S upgrades...pending....

So, after the fork and frame damage (see other post), the Allant+ 9.9S will be new again with a new frame and fork.
So, because of the opportunity as it is being disassembled and reassembled, I'm considering the following:
1> Onyx hubs front & rear with 'Stan's MK3 wheelset (2 new rims hubs)
2> Lauf TR Boost tapered fork (110mm)
3> Supernova M99 headlight + HORN
4> Maybe the extra battery upgrade

Am I missing any "opportunities" that are available to me at this time during the 'rebuild'?
Or, should I return it to OEM stock and wait for next years potential replacement?

Horns are essential in Europe and for anyone riding in big cities.
Are they required by law over there? I can certainly see the need in some situations but have never pondered one personally. Gonna have to be a pretty major horn to be heard in heavy traffic areas.

My brother has a squeeze toy parrot on his new Trek Checkpoint. He gets safely by people on the bike trails and 90% of them smile as he goes past. I was going to get one at the same shop, but they had sold out everything but the alligator.

Horn?🤔
Heck I don’t even bother with a bell on mine.

Every bike needs a bell. Makes a great early warning system and general acknowledgment device to all but ear bud wearers that tend to stay right in the middle of the path and act all flustered when you go by them although you have been dinging it....

I promise you that my booming voice saying “on your left“ is far louder and more informative. Even so, idiots with ear buds looking at their phones are problematic to be sure!

Yea, well they all attempt to achieve the end result, but mostly the "chirping" ones causes people to stop, look in the trees for the birds while the bike wizzes by or the step into the path of the oncoming bike.
With the world changing as bicycles increase in numbers, thoughts of education are imperative.
We had to study for our drivers licenses, right?
We had to pass a test, right?
Who is teaching younger ones as to the proper use, educate, and laws (if so in existence) associated with bicycling?
It may take numerous generations to pound it in, but it is truly getting out of control.

If I were riding through a city much, I’d have a horn.
Speaking of younger ones...this morning I was passed by 2 young women who were yelling at one another over the sound of their blaring loudspeaker attached to their bike. I could hear them coming from over 50 yards! Rude, obnoxious, and as loud as they could be.🤬
All this on a quiet and very nice country trail. I’m shocked at how many folks I hear riding with Bluetooth loudspeakers attached to their bikes in normally quiet pastoral settings.

Geez GuruUno, glad you are OK. All look like interesting upgrades, my 9.9 is still totally stock. Replacement hub has about 150 miles on it, and wondering how long it will last. Put that stuff on, shell out the $44 for the firmware upgrade to 85NM of torque and you should have a killer bike that should keep you satisfied for a few years! 😁

Is update available with all trek dealers?

I was planning to stop by at dealer to get function to turn off daytime lights. Also was waiting for update to come so can get both done at once.

My grips are the SQ labs which clamp on the inside and have no hole in the end for a mirror.

The Selle Italia Eyelink mirror has the best reach of any mirror that mounts in board from the grip. Most of them are too short and don't give you a clear view behind showing too much of your left forearm.

I had my Allant +7 update done Friday and now I have EMTB mode and the light on/off is functioning.👍

Just wondering ... if you get a good wheelset, w/perhaps carbon rims ... and you have a good compliant handlebar ... then is the Lauf fork really necessary?
