Previous e-bike owner but it was stolen!Now looking for full suspension. Comfort key. Am mid-60s and 6'2" post prostate surgery. Upright ride. Throttle. Up to $4? But would prefer under $3K. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately the bike in this great offer was too small for my 6'2" frame. Hope someone else can take advantage of it! Anyone else have thoughts on my "dream bike"?

I'm also 6' 2", 73 years old and 260#. Due to back & joint problems, I require an upright riding position and a bike that would handle my weight plus the 40# of cargo I sometimes carry. In addition, I have circulation issues which require the use of good suspension and a nose less seat. I spent all of 2016 and part of 2017 ebike shopping. I test rode dozens but was unable to find a suitable model. I finally picked a bike that filled most of my requirements and was easily modified to handle the rest.
I chose this Pedego Platinum Interceptor:

This bike has extra long control cables to fit it's "moustache" style handlebars. That made it easy to add a stem riser and more suitable bars to get the upright riding position I need.
Although I can still swing a leg over a high bar bike, I don't know how long that will be the case. For that reason I went with a step thru model. I also chose the mag wheel option to better handle my weight requirements. It's a $400 option but may not be necessary in your case.
For me, the seat tube height was also critical. I needed 4" of seat tube clearance to allow the use of my Kenekt Bodyfloat and Thudbuster LT suspension seat posts. With the posts installed and adjusted for my 6' 2" height, I still have almost 3" of seat tube clearance.
The bike lacks rear suspension but the quality seatposts I use are a good substitute.
The list price of the bike is at the top end of your price range but I found many dealers are willing to deal. I paid $3900 for mine in 2017.
Here is a pic before and after the modifications.
The mods cost less than $100 and took 2 hours to complete using just a screwdriver and allen wrench.

Thank you so much for your comments. I have actually ridden a couple of full suspension mountain-type bikes and am hoping to modify them with a cushy seat and more upright sitting. The full suspension makes for a very sweet ride over little bumps, as well as larger ones. Anyone else have suggestions for a bike along these lines? Thanks in advance.

I agree, a full suspension bike does give a nice ride. I wish I could have found a suitable one during my search. The biggest problem in converting a bike to an upright riding position is the length of the brake & shifter cables and the wiring harness. The cables can be replaced without much difficulty but the wiring harness would need to be cut and spliced to add the necessary length. Doing so would most certainly void the warranty.

I ride a 2016 Haibike Allmtn Plus with full suspension (Yamaha motor and 3-inch tires). I ride upright by raising the handlebar with spacers. I also replaced the handlebar with a Jones H-bar with 2.5-inch rise. The Jones H-bar sweeps back at 45 degrees, aiding in riding upright and positioning your wrists more naturally. It also provides multiple hand positions, something I appreciate on long rides, and more space than normal for a headlight, a bell, a GoPro camera, etc. Fortunately, the cables and wire harness were long enough and I did not have to replace them with longer ones. You should probably verify that current models have similar long cables and wire harness.

Stay tuned because lots of new Full-Suspensions bikes seem to be coming out in 2020. That said, you should try a good suspension seat post like the Suntour SP-12, or the Kinekt. The trick with them is you still need a good saddle. Find the best saddle for you testing them on a regular seat post. When you find the one that is best for you that is very comfy for long rides, then add the saddle to one of the good suspension seat posts and you are in heaven. This is more than good enough for most people (that are not hard core mountain and rock or free riding), and even more so if using an upright riding position where you can use a wider spring cushioned saddle. Good luck finding the right bike for you.
