PearTune - does Mastermind know and does Specialized enforce?

Hi, I have a Vado 5.0 IGH. I live in Canada and am limited to 32 kmh, but the motor was designed to operate at higher speeds (in the US for example) so I can't see how installing PearTune to achieve the US speeds would damage the motor. I am considering installing a PearTune, but I don't want to void the 2 year warranty. Does anyone know if Mastermind knows and records if a PearTune is connected, even if I remove it before visiting the LBS?
