Hi Harry , once again thanks for your input again.
Because I'd got a new ( my third) controller and none worked I didn't know if the pulses from the PAS were "the wrong type" as there was a swing in voltage so the PAS appeared to work so I ruled that out. The throttle worked so a lot of confusion. Thing is after reading your experience in your previous message with a sensor I reluctantly bought a PAS. I bought a cheap one, thinking it wouldn't help from Amazon . That arrived late last night. I couldn't help trying it so at 10:00pm I started to fit it with Blu-tack holding it place.
And you know what, it darn well worked!!!!!!
Three weeks on and off it's taken to get here, so many many thanks for your advice and every one else who kindly chipped in to help out it's appreciated.
Have to say, I'm 101% confused now WHY I was seeing the voltage change as the magnets passed the sensor but no response from the motor. Ah well , but it's happy days now and I can't wait to get it all back together and start using it.
One question I do have, why do you heed caution on having a one level PAS, isn't that what brakes are for, excuse my ignorance due to lack of experiance
