On paper, this looks great, 500 Watts, Samsung 48 volt, 15.6amp. Have never heard of a 8 Fun motor though, so that really concerns me. It is aluminum but still weighs 60 pounds. Great price, on sale for $1500. From $2,000. Am trying to find a place in Scottsdale or Phoenix to test drive one. I liked the Rad City bike also. $1900., 750 Watts Shengyi motor, 48 volt, 14 amp, Any advice on either bike, greatly appreciated. Have not heard of either motor, so really need some feed back on both. Thanks so much!

8fun = Bafang

Radcity is direct drive, Bafang is geared, do a bit of research about geared versus dd.

Do lots of research, I've been following this forum for a year and purchased four eBikes and I'm just starting to think I might know what I'm doing. I competed in mountain biking and raced and restored motorcycles so that helps me a bit, good luck.

There is a saying... " Either you pay now or you pay later"..
I would NOT suggest any E-bike that is not from a reputed source. In a year, when you want to replace any part, you will be running around and it may end as a big waste. Always get a bike with reliable motor and battery systems.
An E-bike enthusiast @vincent has quite a few bikes and she wanted to sell one of her beautiful E-bikes (BH EVo Street).
You may want to contact her. perhaps you will get to test ride some of her bikes and make an informed decision.

I purchased two GreenBike USA GB500's 1.5 years ago. Both bikes have about 1,500 miles each on them with no problems whatsoever.
98% of those miles are canal tow path trails in N. Central IL. More than a few of our miles could be called somewhat primitive trail miles, as some counties do not maintain the canal trails as well as some others do.
We absolutely love these bikes. We can easily do 40 miles on a full battery charge.

They are based out of Coconut Creek,FL. and are great to deal with.
Since we have not ever had any problems with our bikes after 1,500 somewhat hard miles, I have had no reason to contact them, other than to get a few accessories like panniers bags.
9 level pedal assist + thumb throttle. We average 12-15 mph in many of our rides & can easily do 20 mph without pedaling at all. 6 gear Shimano + battery make for easy bike rides.

8Fun, also known as Bafang, had annual sales of over 800K ebike motors a few years ago. A major player in the ebike world.

There's a video on this site where the author visited the Shenyi plant. Looks very high tech to me.

I'd say that batteries and electronics are the bigger failure point in ebikes.
