Nyon - charging iPhones?

Hi all
Does anyone with the Nyon have any success in charging anything from it, let alone an IPhone? The first problem is that its outlet is a mini USB, meaning you need an adapter (I have tried a StarTech.com 8in USB OTG Cable - Micro USB to Micro USB - M/M - USB OTG Mobile Device Adapter Cable - 8 inch paired with a Micro USB to Lightning adapter). Once that is sorted the second problem seems to be that the battery doesn't provide enough power for an iPhone charge.
Any other experiences / thoughts out there?

I know this is not the same, but I use the following cable on my Bosch system with the Intuvia computer and it charges my iPhone properly.

i should have asked - what iPhone are you using? What might work with a 4 may not work with a 6.
