Nyon '21 updating maps independently

The new '21 nyon doesn't seem to get very much in the way of any updates, and the maps appear to be linked to the firmware, and only get updated when the firmware changes.

This seems very poor. Why am I running 2 year old maps on my bike and relying on Bosch to update them? Doesn't feel like it's long term supportable.

Disappointing it feels like they have taken OPENsteetmap and CLOSED it..

I agree.

My observations on the matter are here:

Nyon21/EBC map issues

I think my nyon heard me... It's now thrown it's toys out the pram totally..

I really hope Bosch pay more attention to their control systems for bigger more dangerous vehicles. As having the bike OS crash whilst riding isn't exactly a great thing from a safety aspect.

Haven't experienced that.

What were your riding conditions when it happened? Rain or shine, smooth path or rough terrain?

Thanks.

Remind me not to fly or drive vehicles with Bosch control systems. Occasionally crashing isn't something that's acceptable in any vehicle..

It wouldn't be so bad if Bosch actually supported their products, but they don't. The rule of thumb, if they know they answer or have a positive outcome they will respond, if they don't know the answer or it's a negative, they just delete the ticket and hope you forget about it...

tesla just tried that. but having yoru computer reboot on your bike is not going to cause you to crash.

That's a bit of a leap in condemnation.

How did Bosch and the store where you bought the Nyon respond to your reporting the fault?

Ignored it. Like they always do. I have contacted Bosch with 6 different tickets. The 3 of which were answered were all simple answers. The ones that simply got lost in their system were not so easy answers (e.g. how do I update my maps on my Nyon. Never got a response it was ignored (or it's an 8 month old open support ticket).

Bosch support is really poor.

As suspected, it's now 10 days, and no response from bsoch support. It's the usual story, if they don't have an answer, or do have an answer you aren't going to like, then they just ignore the ticket.

It's sad that someone is employed and getting paid to perform such poor support.
