Hi and thanks for adding me to your group. I have just purchased a preloved Giant Fathom and so far so good, loving the bike, the Giant app which clearly has data issues not so much!

The bike has a very subtle control pad with lights that indicate PAS and battery power but no display for trip mileage etc (this is now with the app data issues and all) but my thoughts are to add one of the optional but somewhat expensive Giant displays. The first bit of exploring I intend to do will be to get recommendations from the members :).

Thanks again and getting ready to go out on a ride, mid summer here so a bit warm.

Cheers

Mike

Welcome Mike! That is a sharp looking bike and really looks like it could eat up a lot of km out on the road.

RideWithGPS is a pretty decent app for your phone that'll give you nav, distance, and climbing stats and worth a try. Strava and Komoot are other options that some use.

Agree with the above. Displays can be distracting both to use and also in regards to the look of the bike which in stock form is nice and crisp!

Enjoy the ride!

I know you might not want to invest more. Let me only tell you the new Garmin Edge and Wahoo ELEMNT GPS bike computers fully cooperate with Giant RideControl One remote via ANT+, giving you all information you would expect from a premium e-bike display plus GPS navigation, recording your rides and plethora of other functions.

It was @DaveMatthews who told me about the capability. Now, my brother rides a Giant Trance E+ with Garmin Edge 530 as his display, and I followed the suit with Wahoo ELEMNT for my Specialized e-bikes (that also sport the ANT+ e-bike capability).

(Giant displays are not only expensive as just for e-bike displays but these also have bad reputation for their waterproof protection).

Hi Mike, and welcome.
If that Fathom is a 2019 it will have a bluetooth controller. ANT+ came out on 2020 models, so devices like @Stefan Mikes suggested may not provide the info you're looking for. They will provide you with a cornucopia of info nonetheless.
You can upgrade the controller though, and that would give you ANT+
