NewB from Virginia-DC metro with a problem on my new Level

My bike will be two weeks old this Saturday. The problem is it will quickly accelerate on it's own, then the display unit goes blank and the electric motor quits working. The only way to restart is to open the battery compartment and "reseed" the battery. I've read other threads which suggest slightly bending the "male" plug on the bike where the battery connects. Any thoughts? I did try this but, I was concerned that I might break one of the four connectors.

That is not a common problem that I have heard of. You definitely need to contact Aventon. They took care of my problem quickly when I had an issue with my motor cutting out.

Talk to Aventon like Tom said and i would advise against bending anything before talking to the bike company.

Update. I live in the Virginia suburbs of DC. I go up to NYC frequently and decided I’d buy my new bike, an Aventon Level, at an authorized dealer while visiting since there isn’t one local to me. I bought my bike August 14th and have had the “accelerate on it’s own” problem that is described in my OP. I took the bike up to the dealer this weekend 9-10-21 and the dealer has reached out to Aventon and have not gotten a response as to how to proceed with my bike’s issue. I love the Level when it works but, now I don’t have it and I have no timeframe as to when I’ll get it back. I’m frustrated but, cest la vie.
