Greetings, retired, live in Florida, I currently ride the Electra e-bike listed in the header. I previously owned a Trek Lift + and a Breezer Uptown with an aftermarket 750 watt hub motor. Each bike is different and at best a compromise, due to the number of variables. I look forward to being a part of the forum.

I have that model, but in white and without the front rack. What made you pick that bike after owning the first two?

I really liked my Trek Lift +. I had a double kickstand on it, due to heavy loads from the grocery store, and I broke the frame attachment points between the chain stays. Since, Trek offered a life time guarantee, on their frames, I asked for a new frame. I was denied it, since the bike had been discontinued. Since Trek bought out Electra, they offered me the Townie Commute Go 8i. Kind of a take it or leave it. I took it. I use the bike as a semi work bike, hauling things. It’s ok, but it was 12 pounds heavier than my Trek, harder to lift onto my car rack, not as agile, less range, and had to spend additional money on accessories. The Bosch motor starts cutting out at 18.5 mph vs 20mph. On the plus side it is comfortable to ride, stoutly built, more torque, and I like the low step frame, which is easier to get on and off. My first bike was a 750 watt hub motor with a throttle. With pedaling, I was able to get 40 mph at full power, maybe more, if I had a higher gear.
