New Member, Some dumb questions

I'm trying to help my father-in-law, who is in his 70's buy a charger for his bike. He is polish, I'm not, and we are communicating by pictures. I know very little about electric bikes but I'm learning thanks to reading the forum and doing some google searches. Makes me want to buy one!

Regarding the bike here are some pics. It is a Clermont (which I have not heard of) and I think the model number is G3M20211 (see sticker pic). The plug is a 5 plug; I'm looking for a charger that plugs into that to charge the bike?

I have deducted that maybe the E-Power would work. My confusion is that the D-Power has only 3 connectors in their barrel plug vs 5 holes on the bike.

Anyway any feedback as to where I can get a charger would be helpful. I'd like to buy a European one online and just ship it to his house in Poland if possible.

I don't know anything about chargers, but perhaps you need to introduce your father-in-law to the most famous Pole on the EBR forums: Stefan Mikes 😉!

Or, hope Stefan sees your post - he's a very knowledgeable and helpful guy!

No idea about the charger, sorry. My Lovelec e-bike uses the D-Power. @RunForTheHills gave the best advice.
 
If the charger has gone bad, I'll bet its connector is still good. You could always splice the old connector to a new charger. Just keep the black side to the black side and the red to the red. Because there are two screws on the battery's connector you can always take a peek inside, using a drop of nail polish (not Polish) to mark the red, positive pin on the outside.

We will see if we can get a photo after the two screws are removed. I suspect that it just requires one positive and one negative to charge. There are some systems that make you use their charger with specially placed magnets and feedback pins. These chargers cost 12-times more.
 
My additional point is I have never owned a rear-rack-battery e-bike and am ignorant in these matters. It doesn't help I'm a Pole living in Poland :)
