Hello, I have a new Frey hunter in my cart in Alibaba which is awaiting my payment but wanted to check in and see what people thoughts are? Any hidden fees beside the payment processing fee ? Anyone regret buying through alibaba and waiting the 120 days or so. Any major issues? I saw something where the batteries were being shipped separately, is that true? Not sure if I’m better off just buying the M2S ultra ht for about the same price. Thanks

I have a CC and overall it’s a great bike. 5 months was a long time to wait though. Their quality is good and they seem honest without any added charges. Rise makes (imports) a similar bike to this. I think they are in the LA area.

I ordered an HT1000 back in September, which is the "skinny" tire version of the Hunter. Right at 120 days I got a text that said that they were out of stock on the Shimano m8000 drivetrain that I'd spec'd and that they might not get resupply until after Chinese New Year. They offered SRAM NX, but I'd only read bad things about shifting performance. I figured why did I spec top of the line components on everything else and then switch out the drivetrain to bottom of the line SRAM, so I accepted the delay. If they don't ship until mid to late Feb, then it'll be a 5-6 month turn time from date of order. In hindsight, I could've accepted the SRAM, then craigslisted it when I got it in my hands, but I'm taking the zen path with the wait. It'll show up when it shows ups. So far, no indication of hidden fees, though. Smooth transaction when I ordered. Still only have 50% down and am not expected to pony up until the bike is completed. The M2S looks like a nice bike.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up ordering the Frey hunter before the 10% price increase and was notified last week the order has been sent to production. Well see how it goes. Such a good deal compared to the big name hunting ebikes like bakcou and quietcat (pretty much half price for similar spec’d bike).

I pretty much did the same but my AM 1000 was a rebadged version from Bolton Ebikes. Much cheaper and actually better configured to my liking. The bike is great.

Here is my M2S XC Sport R500 I upgraded many parts. Larger 48t, dorado 4 piston 203mm brake set. But I'm on the fence which Frey model to get next. The HT is probably most useful for me. Living in Montreal the hills are a challenge but having an extra cell with me does extend my rides. A mid drive will offer me more power. I still think a FS bike will be waste of energy on my commuter runs.

Nice fish. Is that a White Sea Bass or something close?
