New battery and throttle grip for Stromer ST1 2012.

I have a 2012 Stromer ST1, I assembled a new 36v 22A / h battery, 10S5P configuration, from 21700 batteries, 50 pieces fit, 21700 batteries are more reliable and stable, I modeled and printed the details on a 3D printer, plus I have a native battery 36v 14.5A / h, 12A/h remains in it after 10 years, now I can drive long distances.o_O Has anyone done something similar? share your experience and attach a photo :cool:

21700 batteries are more reliable and stable,

Very impressive work!

How did you manage the use of the 1to1energy battery for such a long time? Some users build their own 48V range extenders on the 27½" Stromer, but never heard from a self build 36V battery. May you estimate the overall costs (without time, tools and repair shop)?

The 21700 cell give you less wiring work. But energy density and cell chemistry are the same.

For me, the rigid fork was way too hard and the headlight nearly a joke.

1to1energy battery turned out to be very reliable, it cost about 500 euros to make a new 36v 22A/h battery. 21700 cells have no imbalance.

Could this be done to replace their 48V 983 wH battery?
Well into the future I hope……and hopefully by then the 21700 tech will be 20% of present cost😀
 
Question. What is the yellow wire from the battery? Does it go to the BMS? I bought a simple 36V from Amazon.
the yellow wire is information about the battery charge level 0-10v 0-100%, I made 5v on the yellow wire, the charge level always shows 50%, this is so that engine braking always works at any battery charge level

Very interesting. Thank you I tried to attached a “normal” 36V battery bought on Amazon with only red and black wires. I left the yellow wire not connected. I just wanted to try to see if the battery would power up the ST1. It worked! The bike had power and everything. However the bike control display showed battery level at 10% and the display light was not 100% -was blinkering. I also noticed the odometer showed an enorme amount of miles -6k+ when the bike was actually driven less than 1000 miles

Now I mostly use a new battery; I installed a meter on the steering wheel to see the charge level and consumption.

I assembled a new 36v 60Ah battery Lifepo4, 12S4P configuration, from 38120 batteries.
