This is the newest addition to the fleet.
It's a used 2020 Specialized Turbo Como 4.0 Low-Entry 650B. Odometer showed 190 miles and I couldn't find much wrong with it except the stupid waxy goop on the drive train, walk mode is wonky and doesn't give a consistent speed which I find could be rather dangerous and as far as I can tell, there aren't any motor inhibitors on the brakes.
It came with the "pizza rack" and "pizza bag" but I find the bag wasn't designed very well.
The original owner had the bag mounted backwards, this photo shows how, I assume, the bag should be mounted. Everything I've seen online points to the rack being designed as a front rack and if you click on that thumbnail you can see the top strap stows to the rear, perfect, and the side pocket zippers on both sides stow in little pockets at the front, perfect. Except...
You can see the problem. That full opening top is facing forward and the only closure is a single snap in the middle. I'm pretty sure it rains in Portland 423 days a year so that flap isn't going to "fly" and I'm sure that's why the original owner had the bag mounted backwards.
You can fold the top over...
...but it wasn't designed for that.
Even in Court's review of the Como 4.0, the high step model with the same rack and bag shows the flap wrapped up.
Maybe I'm missing something obvious but it seems like a glaring mistake by Specialized.
I've only put 9 miles on it but so far I'd say Court's review and others I've seen are accurate. Fun, quite, smooth... and fast if you want it.
