Mtb Helmet for My Cone Head

I tried on helmets at REI today and the salesman said he wasn't comfortable with how high the helmets were sitting on my head. Too much forehead exposed, too high over my ears and too much of the base of my skull. He measured me at 57-58cm around, so not even an XL sized helmetz but apparently I've got a cone head, pushing helmets unsafely high. Any body else suffer from this? Have you found a helmet with interior space allowing it to sit lower?

Well, no my skull is native am, a bit the opposite in fact. Some archeologist on TV said our skulls are penta-roofed or something.
In my 62 years of bike riding I've never hit the lower part of my skull. I've hit my chin five times, requiring stitches twice. I'm using a full face fox rampage helmet which covers my chin. https://www.jensonusa.com/search/?q=fox+helmet Should also cover your lower skull. It is nicely ventilated as compared to motorcycle helmets. Note the 18th helmet the rox rampage comp for $160 which is the one I am using. The yellow letters nicely match the yellow/green construction vest I wear on the bike.

Maybe try a different retailer.
