Mississauga Calling....Volt or Teo bike Help me make the right choice

Hi to all, brand new to power assist bike world and looking for some input or helpful advice from the experts and owners of VOLT or TEO bike.
My head is full of confusion as to the choice between the two, almost pulled the trigger on the Volt bike however the 10.4ah battery held me back, than the Teo bike came to my attention and the 17ah battery was almost the answer i was looking for however beside this forum i can not find any other reviews from actual owners of Teo.
Yes i do realize all the differences and the price difference between them just wish there was a way to see them in person before i go spending all that cash. Hence this question:
Is there anyone in Mississauga area that has one of these bikes and is willing to get together for a cup of java at Tim Horton (my treat) so i can have a look at the bike and hear your experience firsthand, if so pm me.

That is really funny that you of all people happened to read this, i was ready to pull the trigger on Volt when i happened to come across your post about Teo and then your full unpacking and assembly of it: https://electricbikereview.com/forum/threads/teo-fat-bike.12326/
and i was so glad to see it comes with full fenders when i looked on their website, i did exchange few e-mails with Benoit regarding people in my area however due to privacy policy he was not able to share any info, hence this post...hopefully someone will chime in...
Let me ask you this: lets say you decided that you just want to use the power bike and not pedal at all, how far do you think it will take you on those new Maxxis tires before it needs a recharge?

Had to go to do the things the Boss had planned for me. Isn`t married life wonderful?
The reason i asked if you tested it just on battery power is that it has been a long while since i went riding and just do not want to screw things up by using just the battery power once this old body of mine gets tired, further more it would be quite a site if i had to push it back home. Looking at your results it gives me much more confidence that the Teo setup will be more than adequate for my needs, at 240 pounds plus say 20 pounds of gear i should be able to make a 50 km round trip with some juice still left in the battery. Yes i am following the Teo thread.

As for trying a Voltbike , you should talk to Greg at Voltbike. They have what they called an Ambassador program which encourage owners to let people try their bikes. In exchange, if you decide to buy after trying, the owner get a 100$. Which I think is really cool. I am waiting for 750 Yukon as we speak. Hope that helps.
 
I'm in Whitby and am buying a Téo Limited, I need the fenders and rack. Just waiting for the owner to be back from China as I would like a 'not matte black' model.

For me, the bigger battery, better brakes and the better positioning of the controller (above the battery away from possible splashes of water, as opposed to below it)

Looks to me though, that they both could be made in the same factory, just different specs.

I'm in Mississauga.
I was going to pull the trigger last week but decided to wait till Benoit comes back, like to see if he's going to bring back something newer to his shop. I'm @99.99% sure I will get the Teo s.
 
I did not know about teo. I just realised that they are made here in Montreal! If I had known. And yes, 17amp battery...no brainer. They are 400$ more expensive though. But they really look alike. Volt have been around long I think. I 'll let you know how it went.
 
The Téo and the Yukon are both manufactured in China. I think most bicycles are.

The Limited edition is indeed $300 more, but I figure some of the upgraded features justify the price. I'm buying a Téo and will drive to Montréal from Toronto to pick it up, worth the drive for me.
 
Yep. The Black one. The Red and the White are set to arrive in 5 weeks, can't wait that long. Looking forward to meet Benoit and seeing the place.

I was thinking of doing the same thing although I heard he is in China at the moment.
I also live in Toronto / Mississauga area, maybe we can car pool if timing is right?
 
Teo and Volt are just slightly customized off-the-shelf Chinese ebikes. Most of the standard components between the brands are near identical. You will find similar specs and designs of Volt, Teo and others like Biktrix , RadPower and M2S ebikes and others as well. They are not that unique from one another as a whole, just in some parts and branding. Since features and specs will be pretty similar, it just comes down to price, shipping etc and probably most important customer service. The positive thing about these companies is the customer service which is generally good.

I would love to see a good review on the teo bike. I would like to here and see it perform as well with all the information or data on them.

well i was all set to go with the black but now that i have seen the red one i`m confused once again.... guess i should have not asked Benoit to share the pictures in the Teo tread.
