Minimum Tyre Size on Turbo Vado

Hi - Looking for some advice on tyre size. I was thinking about some Schwalbe Winter spiked tyres this year. I have used them in the past on another bike and they were great. The thing is I still have those ones as they don't get a lot of use. They are however 40-622 or 28x1.5 and I was wondering if they would fit on Vado rim. They would probably only be on for a couple of weeks and that would save some money. If not I'll sell them and buy some bigger ones but would prefer not to have to! Thoughts?

Let us know the specs on your rims... the inside and outside width in mm should be listed on the wheel.

No nothing on the rim nor on the Specialized website so I'll need to just take off the 47s and measure the rim. At that stage I can then just try the 40 and see if it looks OK. Was just wondering if there was some rule of thumb that would tell me not to bother.

You should be fine with the tire width difference of 7 mm... here is handy chart from Schwalbe.

Any rim width between 17mm and 23mm will be in spec for a 40mm tire. Hope this helps.
