Mid-drive conversion on XP (or Lite)? BBSHD

Has anybody converted a lite or XP to a BBSHD mid drive? I want a folding fat 20” with 1500watts for pulling a kid trailer. I’ve built several mid drives and hub motor bikes, and certainly need the 1500watt mid for this.
Any feedback from folks who have tried or know somebody who has?

I should add that ideally, I’d find one with a bad motor to convert, but unless I can find one locally, I’ll be better off to pull the hub motor off a new one and sell it.

why would you need 1500 watts? I pull trailers all the time on my bosch. this a big heavy motor that takes a big battery.

NUTS! Really WACKA! FFS

I guess need is a relative term. I could likely get by with less 90% of the time, but want to be able to haul a trailer up some steeper logging/cat roads without over working the motor. I have one on my cargo bike and run the smallest front and largest rear sprocket I could find. I often throttle uphill loaded with me feet down for stability. I’ve also built 2 other bikes with the same motor, and I guess I’m used to/spoiled by it. I picked a Luna X1 and even at 600 watts, it felt underpowered to me. The buddy I sold it to loves it.

Your question is fair, I just don’t want to be left wishing for more power. And the extra weight is worth it to me.

The BBSHD is perfect but why a little 20”?
This is an auxiliary bike of sorts. Will be folded up and stowed behind the seat in my 4runner along with the rest of my gear. I don’t like exterior bike racks if I can avoid them. I’ll still use my bigger bikes when I’m out of my van. So I guess the short answer is storage/transport.

I think it may make more sense to get a real MTB that folds. https://flatbike.com/product/809/
It will take the standard BBSHD 68-74mm instead of the 100mm that the Lectric XP bottom bracket requires.

The stock Lectric battery bms prevents you from using the full amps that a 1000w BBSHD can access.

Use the extra money for a better bike frame with real suspension, better wheels, drivetrain etc...

Can fold up flatter too.

If you do go with Lectric, don't forget the lite is a single speed.

I'd also consider keeping the rear motor active on the XP in case you ever break your chain, strip the motor gears etc on the mid drive. Then you could still get home.....

The bafang ultra magnesium is a 1500w I've had my eye on but it's not "drop-in". Just started working on 3 wheel bike with a trailer and am contemplating using using 12x 12ah HO milwaukee red lithium batteries wired in parallel and series but still trying to figure out the best controller and motor to pair them with. Let me know what you end up going with Quaka.
