Main cable extension question

I am in the process of raising my handle bars, and purchased the Bafang main cable extension. For the life of me I can’t figure out where to install it. Is the connection point near the motor, and if so how do I access it?

This is for a BBS02 mid drive? Your picture is for one. Follow the harness down from the handlebars and somewhere it will thicken and you will see a round connector plug pair. You pull that apart carefully, and connect the extension.

It’s for the Ultra. I found where the four cables merge into one. Is this where they pull apart? From the diagram it looks like the connector you pull apart is different. I have a bad habit of breaking things, and don’t want to mess it up. Thanks

No, the 4 wire junction is not where it joins. And since it is the Ultra, which is used on production ebikes, the connector you seek may well be inside the frame of your bike. All you can do is trace it back from the four wire junction and hope a connector appears before it goes inside the frame.

Betting that you won't find a visible connector, as an alternative, if you look at the Cali Ebikes picture, you can buy extensions for the two brake cables, the throttle cable, and the display. That will probably solve your problem.

I bought a cable from California ebikes that I think will work. Tomorrow I am going to remove the plastic guard from the down tube to access the wiring. If it works, all good. If not I will follow your suggestion. Thanks
