So I've been lurking here for a bit after test riding an Avocado Bike in Hilton Head and thought that an eBike might be something that I need.....want whatever. I'm not trying to get the best thing out there, looking for more of a budget bike at this point but wanted to know if there was a reason a review hasn't been done for the Macwheel bikes. I'm more interested in the cruiser styled bike but didn't find any reviews for them here. Have you given the Macwheel any thought, or maybe has anyone had any experience with the bikes. It appears they are newer but since there wasn't a request for a review on them I thought it can't hurt to ask.

First, manufactures have to pay to have their bikes reviewed. Not all are willing to do that for various reasons. One reason might be that somebody decided to import a container load of bikes from China to see how it goes. Anyone can do that, unpack them in a rented space, then ship them with very little cost involved. If it goes well, order a second container. If it doesn't go so well, or the market goes south, you are out very little. You could even change the brand name you import them under, change your shipping address by renting a different space, and have a second try ready to go when the second containers comes in....
Please know that I have no idea if this is the case or not. It could just as easily be a (small) new company based on the best of intentions....
2nd, bikes are generally spec'd out and assembled in China using a wide selection of over the counter parts. If you'd like to get a feel for a bike, and spend some time to do it, many times you can find reviews for some of the components used to build that bike. Drive systems, brakes, tires, shifters, derailleurs, etc. are often reviewed on their own merit.

I admit, anymore I am more and more cynical. Like in post #1, here. First post from RuLins05. Almost sounds or reads like an advert from whomever is behind this Macwheel concern; well at least it does to little ole cynical me. So I go to their website. I figure when the site copy editor can't correctly spell puncture correct; as in "puncuture proof tires" 
, LOL, if they have that much dedication to detail on the internet page, I can imagine how wonderful the product is, after the sale is made, of course.
There are plenty of those kinds of people all over this site, the disgruntled ones made forever disgruntled over these hard-to-believe-how-cheap-a-price this-ebike-is because they happened to stumble upon an ebike with a price too hard to believe, they jump right onto that one. The old adage remains: you get, what you pay for.
And just what is up with that 15.5mph top speed, anyway?
Poster @AHicks nails it but I'll go a step further. Go to All Of Craigslist and type in any of the top tier ebike brands, say, Haibike or Trek or Specialized or Giant. Pedego has an extensive US dealer network established and in place for service after the sale, as well as Trek or Giant. Anyone would be more satisfied and made financially solvent by buying one of these ebikes used rather then take a chance on an off-off the wall brand as the subject bike of this post.
Apologies for being so blunt. It's just that folks who've been here for a while see so many newcomers get financially burned by asian imported ebikes from secondary or third tier sellers. Plus, you posted this some 6 days ago. AHicks was kind enough to reply a day later and there has been no input from you since regards to his remarks!

Blunt is one word...... I didn't really see a reason to respond to his post to be honest. He said there was probably not going to be a review for this bike (honestly didn't realize reviews were paid for, once I saw AHicks say this the little snippet at the beginning of the videos now makes sense, never understood what was being said). I didn't realize that my post sounded like broken English but I'll try harder next time. Then again if you had to put together a website in Chinese I think you would marvel at how well some of these smaller companies do making one in English. I have nothing to do with macwheel, just saw it on Amazon. I lived in Hong Kong for a couple years as a volunteer and while I realize a lot of stuff made in China is crap, most things are made there (including Trek, Giant etc). To be clear I'm not comparing higher end models with the bike I mentioned, just saying that if its made in China that doesn't equate to being worthless crap, especially in the Bicycle industry as most are. I don't have the funds to spend on a Specialized or the likes, hence the reason I was looking for a more budget friendly option. Comparing the one I found on Amazon to Ride1UP, Rad or others in the sub $1500 price range seems like the macwheel is a good value. I get that it is a no name brand company offering what seems like a decent product (judging by some of the components that you can make sense of), but so was a company called Palmetto State Armory and look at them now (excuse my comparison but it is what I know, hopefully it doesn't leave you wondering what I'm talking about). Retail usually has 3 components, or at least that's what I'm always being told, and the best companies have only 2 of them, some only have one but you can't really have all three. Quality, Price and Customer Service, take your pick and if any company has 2 of these I'm willing to give them a shot if it fits. And FYI, I thought the 15.5mph was odd too so I asked. Their response was that its the equivalent of 25km/h which is the default setting on the KD21C unit (same as used on the Ride1Up 500 & Core series bikes). It is something that can be adjusted.

Thanks for the link, looks like the Ebike industry is going through what every other industry that has an online option for sales is going through. I'll take your hopes as genuine as everyone here for the most part seemed pretty nice, I guess I'm too young to be the ole cynic, I'll be the naïve optimist....

I purchased a Macwheel Wrangler a few weeks ago. The bike is OK. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5. I also have a Pedego Platinum Interceptor. The Macwheel arrived in good condition. Assemble was easy enough and I have had no problems with it. The mechanical disc brakes are not as good as the hydraulic disk brakes on the Pedego and the battery will not last as long especially going up hills. I bought the Macwheel to ride on easy to moderate single tracks. So far so good.
