Lekkie Bling Ring upgrade question

Hey all.

Hello. I have a Bafang BBSHD that came with a 44T chainring. I'm interested in the Lekkie Bling Ring, but it only comes in 42T and 46T. Is there a difference in going for either of those vs. staying with a 44T chainring I currently have? Will the difference be big?

Also, if I go with either a 42T or 46T, will I have to change my chain and/or cassette as well?

Thanks for any input!

A two tooth difference on a chainring is not much. If you did a double-blind test, you likely would not feel a difference at all. If you have not had a problem with chain-drops, the narrow-wide tooth profile won't do anything for you either...buying the ring would be more about bling than anything else. It will weigh less, if that is a consideration.

Depending on how your bike's chain length was determined from the factory, you may not need a new chain (if you went with the 46T); I cannot say for certain without seeing it.

Oh ok. So chain doesn't necessarily have to be replaced. I also just received the same response from manufacturer 2 minutes ago.

One other thing is that when I pedal backwards, my chain doesn't move or rotate backwards. I would need to rotate my rear tire backwards to get the chain to do so.

Anyone have experience with adding a bashguard or bashwich onto a Lekkie Bling Ring? I'm curious if that can be done and what parts I'd need to pick up.

Thanks.
