Legal? Hybrid ebike.

No, 600w in 250 out, but of course legal ebikes use more than 250, but rarely more than 600.
I very much doubt theres any small print in the regulations for charging on the go with fossil.

I Like It !!

I designed my own hybrid using my old e-bike. 😂

Legal in NY state, but must be registered as a motorcycle. The class of motorcycle would depend on its top speed.

I can only imagine some interpretation to make it illegal to attatch the generator to the bike, stick it in a back pack or on a trailer.
Even I baulk at running a 2 stroke version, the smoke coming out of it!

In Canada, a gas powered bicycle is still legally a bicycle if the engine is less than 50cc.

The Honda EU1000I generator has a 49.4cc, quiet, clean burning, fuel efficient 4-stoke engine.

It weighs almost the same as my two batteries at 28.7 pounds.

The generator is 9.5" wide, so my Q-factor will increase by 1.5"... Not that bad.

The exhaust would be coming out around my knees though, so I might need to add exhaust pipes.
I could tune them to sound like a Harley. 😂

In Canada any outboard engine under 10hp, attached to any vessel under 10 feet long doesn't require any licensing or registration.

I can strap one to my life jacket if I wanna and see how fast I can plow through the water.
I might need a shroud around my propeller though? 😂

Of course the issue here is this is not a constructed Hybrid, but simply portable charging.
Does an EV become gas or nuclear powered while charging?

I have nothing against the nuclear power. As soon as you construct a portable nuke generator for an EV, you are a rich man :)

The whole flaw of the ICE generator powering an electric motorcycle is it is inefficient in the first place, directly polluting with no control on the exhaust in the second place, and utterly stupid in general :)

I'm not going to use my Flux capacitor because I need to keep my hybrid e-bike within the regulations. 😂

interesting but pointless,..

The EU1000I puts out 900 Watts for 3 hours.
That's 2700 Watt Hours for a tank of gas.

My 48 Volt 25ah battery is 1200 Watt hours.

So for the same weight, the EU1000I has ~the same power to weight ratio as two of my batteries.

BUT,.. Gas stations are everywhere. It can be a lot harder to find an outlet in the middle of nowhere.

So,.. I'm thinking one battery along with the Honda generator will get me to my next gas station while searching for an outlet.

My friends used to take a generator with them to charge the bikes after the ride when they camp in Scotland, but theyve all bought spare batteries now.
How does the construction of those batteries compare to the fuel used and the generator itself.

Its interesting that if you take the construction out of the equation, including the human..
An ebike charged by renewables uses less co2 than a pedal rider, especially if they are a meat eater.
Its all very complicated obviously, but some tiny EVs theoretically have co2 footprint less than a cyclist if fully occupied and same speed.

Not at source obviously, but take into account the massive industry to get food to your local shop.

Im not arsed, pollution of every type and loss of habitat is the main issue.

Ohio grid has been asked for 30GW to supply AI data centers.
Im not taking lectures from virtue signalling big tech.

20m homes worth of electricity being requested, just for Ohio.
Thats nearing half of the UK grid or our entire wind production being requested for computing in Ohio.
30 thousand megawatts.
So they can spy on us better.

The man in the video would be better off if he rode an ICE scooter. But then, he needs a driving license and the insurance. Having a generator that powers an electric motor, the man pretends he rides an e-bike, and he becomes one of the irresponsible "road bandits" who think they can do as they please and whom I despise.
