Ktm basically gone bust

KTM going from the defacto offroad utilty, leisure sport company to insolvency is quite the crash.
The ebikes went last year and Im sure the brand will continue as its so iconic, but probably now entirely removed from what ever was left of its Austrian base.

I've never been fond of their e-bikes. E-bikes should be left to bicycle companies. Motor companies do not understand cycling particularly well.

Take Yamaha. The brand perfectly knows how to make the e-bike motor but does not understand the bicycle business.

While it is disturbing for the moto industry that KTM is pulling the plug, in actual fact the motorized division of the company only licensed the KTM name to the Puello's, who created Haibike eBikes one of the early leaders in the eBike space. Licensing agreements are very common and why you see Porsche and BMW etc. branded bikes. Auto parts manufacturers are responsible for many of the motor systems used by the more well known brands also. When the bottom line becomes effected then even big companies will fail. Seems to be lots of that going around these days.......
