No ebike is perfect, this is a thread dedicated to sharing known issues or problems with electric bikes from CUBE as well as any help and solutions you know of. Sometimes that means a DIY fix and other times it can mean a recall, software update or part replacement by a dealer.

Please be respectful and constructive with feedback, this is not a space for hate speech. In many cases, representatives from the company will see feedback and use it to improve their product. In the end, the goal is to enjoy riding and help each other go further and be safer.

Regrettably I purchased a Cube Kathmandu Hybrid One 500 step through recently and am now trying to re-sell it. Handsome bike but quite useless as far as performance here in the Gatineau hills of Quebec, Canada. No guts to climb these hills. Hybrid what? 250W and 85Nm don't cut it here in the mountains, regardless of the Bosch brand name motor, which was a big reason why I bought the bike in the first place. Big disappointment. This bike should stay in the city.

Well, I'm in no position to take any issue with your findings but my Cube Katmandu EXC 625 climbs cliffs. I think the only real difference is the battery; 500 vs. 625, unless your gearing is different. CN

I'm interested in learning more about your normal riding terrain. What grade of hills: 10,12,15% slopes? What is your gearing? Do you live in city, suburbs or country?

OH also what pedal cadence do you find optimal when climbing those cliffs

Sorry for no replies. I haven't been coming here lately and have not been riding because of the massive rain we've been experiencing here lately. I will have to get back out and pay some some specific attention when I'm climbing. I live in a relatively rural area with some hills but I've never really paid much attention while riding.
I just gear down and raise the assist as required. haven't come across a hill I couldn't climb and my lungs suck so I'm not much real help to my bike.
