Is the a bad ebike?

Most of what you pay for with the very top of the line components is lighter weight design and materials. Weight weenies and racers care about that and are willing to pay a lot more for it. In the mid-range, you will sacrifice features such as less gears as you step down in price, but the reliability will still be pretty good. Shimano does have the Tourney line, which is not that great. However, the Altus and Acera stuff works well for most people. I would still choose Shimano Tourney over a Chinese brand I have never heard of and can only find on Alibaba and AliExpress.

Actually Shimano has some stuff that is lower then that it isn't even level listed but again Shimano make everything from bottom of the barrel stuff all way to the top notch stuff:)

I will take your word for it. I only work on my own bikes (and some friends' and family's bikes), so I haven't experienced their whole line.

I have seen EBR call it like it is many times good and bad and the reviews have actually saved me thousands of dollars, no complaints here!
If you want to see Court hate something watch a review of any bike with a Seagull style frame lol, its clear he is not a fan😁
