Intro from Colville, WA

Hi All,
I just purchased my 1st E-Bike at age 69+ and love it. Purchased the Aventon Aventure (M) step over. I live in mountainous terrain so my old mountain bike just can't cut it. Attached is a picture of the bike. I do have a question. I like to carry an extra chain and am not quite sure what make, model and size would be best to buy. If anyone has a recommendation would greatly appreciate it. I have the bike fully accessorized and have just added "Flat Out" to the tires which has great reviews plus a skid plate with Aventon branding on Ebay. My only complaint is I wanted to purchase an extra battery, but they are out of stock and not available. Would not want to get stuck out of juice having to peddle the 73+ pound beast up mountains! You count the links and measure the width. If 6 7 or 8 rear sprockets, probably 3/32" width chain. If 9 10 11 or 12 rear sprockets, probably 9 speed up chain. Single speed, 1/4" chain. I use KMC, the one that came with my bike lasted ~5000 miles. There is special e-bike chain but some commuters have reported it doesn't last longer than the first line stuff. I bought plated, since I ride in the rain a lot. Modernbike.com or universalcycles.com stock some items. If replacement doesn't have # of links you do, you buy a pin popper and shorten a longer one. The schwin pin popper is garbage. Freight is more than 4* master links, get some spares. Master links with cotter pins won't fit through derailleurs.
I find bent derailleur is more of a hazard than broken chain. I have never broken a chain but I've worn out a couple. Worn ones skip over the small sprockets and wear the tips off. Carry a couple of master links and what tool is required to pop them. I'm not strong enough to pop the links I bought, I carry needle nose pliers. I've bent a couple of derailleurs takeups, fortunately within push distance of home. If a hub motor is working it will carry you home without the chain.
