Under Qaddafi women could go to school, drive cars, and travel about freely. Contrast that with Afghanistan or Iraq or Iran or Saudi Arabia or the UAE. He never used his military to attack other countries as Saudi Arabia and the UAE are doing with a large dependency on made in USA weapons of mass destruction, parts and maintenance help, and mid-air refueling of their war planes by the U.S. military.

We ignore completely the war crimes committed by U.S. forces from day one of the invasion of Iraq with the American military targeting hotels, hospitals, water treatment plants, power plants, and schools in the country. Even worse is the tons of radioactive ammunition used that left behind dust that is responsible for a 100-fold increase in birth defects in Iran. Shock and awe is a colonial term for state terrorism.

I have to ask how many of us have actually traveled and seen N Africa, are we veterans or are we just fake news parrots?

Thank you!😎

Forensic science can tell when a body was killed if the team can get to the scene in time. UK blocked that.
Forensic science can determine when the body was killed long after. Getting there earlier makes it just a bit easier. Do you mean the Ukrainians blocked it? How would the UK be in there? Where's that bit of BS coming coming from? To read this thread I can't log in beforehand or I miss almost all of it due to the 'Ignored' posts. Then I have to log in to rebut all the BS. Wow. CN

wiki tells you: "
while gross domestic product had been $3.8 billion in 1969, it had risen to $13.7 billion in 1974, and $24.5 billion in 1979.[93] In turn, the Libyans' standard of life greatly improved over the first decade of Gaddafi's administration, and by 1979 the average per-capita income was at $8,170, up from $40 in 1951; this was above the average of many industrialized countries like Italy and the UK.[93] In 1969, the government also declared that all foreign owned banks must either close down or convert to joint-stock operations.[94]

" Gaddafi also wanted to combat the strict social restrictions that had been imposed on women by the previous regime, establishing the Revolutionary Women's Formation to encourage reform.[98] In 1970, a law was introduced affirming equality of the sexes and insisting on wage parity.[99] In 1971, Gaddafi sponsored the creation of a Libyan General Women's Federation.[100] In 1972, a law was passed criminalizing the marriage of any females under the age of sixteen and ensuring that a woman's consent was a necessary prerequisite for a marriage.[99] Gaddafi's regime opened up a wide range of educational and employment opportunities for women, although these primarily benefited a minority in the urban middle-classes.[99]

From 1969 to 1973, it used oil money to fund social welfare programs, which led to house-building projects and improved healthcare and education.[101] House building became a major social priority, designed to eliminate homelessness and to replace the shanty towns created by Libya's growing urbanization.[97] The health sector was also expanded; by 1978, Libya had 50 per cent more hospitals than it had in 1968, while the number of doctors had increased from 700 to over 3000 in that decade.[102] Malaria was eradicated, and trachoma and tuberculosis greatly curtailed.[102] Compulsory education was expanded from 6 to 9 years, while adult literacy programs and free university education were introduced.[103] Beida University was founded, while Tripoli University and Benghazi University were expanded.[103] In doing so, the government helped to integrate the poorer strata of Libyan society into the education system.[104] Through these measures, the RCC greatly expanded the public sector, providing employment for thousands.[101] These early social programs proved popular within Libya"
So.....prior to 1969, were the Libyans pulling oil out of the ground? Maybe all the 'good' Gaddafi supposed did for the people was due to the huge increase of GDP due to oil? Where did the huge increase in GDP come from after 1969? Did Gadaffi pull it out of his ***? CN

That is nonsense. The confidence level in a finding that depends on a short window of time, diminishes.

"Do you mean the Ukrainians blocked it? How would the UK be in there?"
How would the UK be in there?
That shows you are totally ignorant of the situation and are making judgments about what you know nothing.

Oh, so you need to see a leader make something out of nothing like magic or he did nothing. That's bizarre.

There's a maritime youtube channel that I watch sometimes, and there was one where Chief Makoi explained how the ports were rumored to be mined. His shipping company had a ship trapped in port and finally got the crew out and home by minivan. The crew had been sleeping in the passageways as they were afraid a missile would hit the ship.

They took measures to disable their ship so it can't be moved for some time. So there are probably going to be empty ships clogging the ports also.

I think the E. Warshington wheat farmers are going to get good prices this year. They'll be happy about that.

If we don't have a Big Heat like last summer which reduced the crop by 50%...

Nice video report btw.

Whenever somebody would come up to the counter where I used to work, I would say something pleasant or complimentary. If they had blue or green or some other unnatural, non-human color hair, I used to say brightly, "I used to have a troll with hair that color!"

OK. So April 3 the head of the UN is calling for an independent investigation. Today is April 8.

The Hill
"United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres tweeted on Sunday that he was “deeply shocked” by images of civilian deaths in Ukraine circulated over the weekend.

“It is essential that an independent investigation leads to effective accountability,” he added in his tweet."

Russia called for an emergency meeting to arrange an independent investigation ASAP.
Refused by the head of the UNSC under UK, and put on to the next scheduled meeting.

It's the most vitally important event in the news. World changing. More important than another space mission success or Will Smith.
And UK says " Nah, it can wait. We'll add it to our agenda for the next day"

My response to the 'everybody knows whom I'm referring to troll'.

Were the Libyans pulling oil out of the ground prior to 1969?

Geez. it was a simple question. Were the Libyan's pulling oil out prior to 1969? I fail to see why I was apparently "Wrong again, bud?" WTF?
I thought this a discussion group, not an argument group.

And one of my best friends is a Forensic Anthropologist in the UK. I know a wee little bit about it.

Finally, maybe help us out here....since quite a few of us here are SO out of touch with what's really happening over in the Ukraine, perhaps you'd kindly enlighten us with where we ought to be going to get the info we're so badly lacking, according to you?

This just confirms to me it's a good thing we can ignore people here. The bummer is I have to be logged in if I want to respond and when I do I lose ability to refer back to the ignored content.
At long last, I've simply come to the conclusion there are threads here to avoid altogether, and no one I have ignored say anything worth me reading so there's no point in viewing any of it any longer.

Have I been name-calling you or de-personing and smearing you? You're complaining the state of social graces as you do this? I called you "bud". I apologize for the undue familiarity.

Elevation duly noted.

Oh, I see. "Wrong" wouldn't even make sense would it?.
Isn't this below more sensible... like I wrote?.

Striking out again, bud

For your statement:

Your self-elevation by proxy is non responsive. If the opposing force there is doing things to the bodies like bagging them and moving them and they are given time to do whatever they want, the difficulty of pinpointing a few hours slot becomes greater to a point of not being reliable evidence - it's not just a matter of working harder. A confidence level must be met.

I make sure to view whatever is the best strongest cleanest most opposing view to mine that I can find. I also view the attempts to wrongly or dishonestly undermine what my view happens to be.
I view the strongest cleanest supporting views and the cheating or ignorant supporting views. Those I especially note, so that I'm not giving wrong information or bad reasoning and I remember who not to trust much. That means most in the news.

This just confirms to me it's a good thing we can ignore people here.

Better to ignore than to smear and de-person, eh?

You realize that the blood and guts spilled on the ground and bullets etc undisturbed, is part of the evidence of what happened where and when, correct?

Oh, so you need to see a leader make something out of nothing like magic or he did nothing. That's bizarre.
No....I was simply stating that the huge rise in GDP maybe allowed him to start helping his people that he could not do prior to oil. I know nothing much more about him other than his claims on the Gulf of Sidra being Libyan territory and off limits to everyone else.
How else would the Libyan GDP have risen? CN

Whoa. I hit the de-ignore button and it was like opening a portal to another dimension.

"De-personing"

That's not a word.

"Your self elevation by proxy is non-responsive" "I view the strongest cleanest supporting views"

These are words, but they are not arranged in an order that represents a thought or an idea.

I don't think it's fair for someone to start assembling words according to some opaque conceptual scheme that's never been seen before and then complain that they are not being taken seriously. These constructions seems like a kind of word salad, but it's a bit different than what I've observed in neurological disorders. If "de-personing" means "being ignored online or not taken seriously" perhaps what's going on is simpler: Perhaps the person in question is being avoided because they are speaking and behaving in a way that others find bizarre and incomprehensible.

The idea of a "view" that is "cleanest" seems like it almost makes sense, but does not. A "viewpoint" might be "well constructed," "linear," or "logical," and a "view" could be "clear," but not "clean." The adjectives are not appropriate for the nouns they modify. Someone could attempt to infer meaning from these phrases, but there's no way to know if one is decoding it accurately. This bizarre manipulation of language introduces so many variables and so much ambiguity that it's easy to understand why people would be hesitant to respond. Reading CN's responses, I can sort of reconstruct what CN thinks is being said, but there's still way too much guesswork involved.

No idea what's going on here. I don't think it's neurological, but I couldn't rule it out. Arrogance, maybe? Like, "I'm going to use words in whatever order I want to, and you just have to figure it out! Nyah, nyah, nyah, three plus chair equals billiard ball!" That doesn't seem quite right, either. Reading too many tweets that are written as incomplete sentences? The neofascist riposte to dadaism-- answering an argument so quickly and with such brazen disregard for logic that it's a form of satire? Or maybe some combination of the above?

There are situations when it's healthy to be confused, and for me, I think this is one of them. Don't try to explain any of this to me, it will probably only make it worse.

Sorry to check in and then tap out immediately, but I didn't feel like I could say nothing, even though there's nothing I could possibly say that would add anything meaningful just at this moment. Maybe I'll check back in in a few pages.

I will say: I knew nothing about forensic entomology! That is cool!

You are correct, but I did not have your response at hand at the time so I put in Wrong again.
To me it basically meant the same. I asked a question and you took it the wrong way.
I also have zero problem with being called Bud. I use it almost exclusively myself to strangers.

Yes, I agree completely. The sooner you get to it, the better. I questioned whether it was something cooked up by the Ukrainians first off. Things such as this are rampant in war. You need only to look back at the Vietnam war to see the stuff pulled by both sides to sway international opinion. Hell, the Gulf of Tonkin incident was a farce.
I make sure to view whatever is the best strongest cleanest most opposing view to mine that I can find. I also view the attempts to wrongly or dishonestly undermine what my view happens to be.

Attacking the strongest opposing opinion is the most admirable route to rebut something, but I'm still interested in seeing the source that determines your point of view. I am not getting anything anywhere that backs up what you're stating as factual. Where are us misinformed people to go? Where do you get your news?
Better to ignore than to smear and de-person, eh?
Yes. I just find there are a lot of people on forums and Social Media who simply speak out of their ****s or IMO, are functionally illiterate. It doesn't take much to stop me from carrying on reading posts from people with run-on sentences, poor spelling, zero punctuation and general, obvious lack of intelligence or even common sense. On this site I am quick to ignore. I left Twitter recently because of the complete morons there and was on FB for awhile about a decade ago. No thanks.
I live close to Washington state and for quite some time I went shopping down there on a weekly basis.
I saw that just about every car in every parking lot had an Alumni license plate frame from one school or another indicating a high level of post secondary education down there....but, all you had to do was go inside the stores to see there was almost zero sign of much intelligence or even relative common sense among them. Education my ***! In all fairness to Americans, we have an equal share of dolts up here, we just don't run around advertising it on our cars like they do.
I do not put you in the Dolt group, I just want to see where you get the news that forms your opinions.
It sure isn't where I've been going. CN
