no a lot of antivaxx talkshow hosts died from covid. its like covid liked them or something. even eating horse paste did not save them.
Yes, and it seemed that many famous pro vaxxers had deaths and other health incidents as well... the ones who were in the midst of pitching vaxxing when they fell unconscious on-stage and camera were memorable.
foofie :)

As for the cattle de-worming agent, I think that's pure crackpottery. The fact that one individual may have personally observed 40 people who took it and recovered shortly afterwards means exactly nothing. I know 20 people who recovered about two days after drinking wine-- this also means nothing.
That's poor logic; that 40 people got over it doesn't confirm its usefulness, but it doesn't necessarily mean exactly nothing, either. It's always a matter of degree and more investigation with more controls and more subjects.

It is nearly impossible to reason with someone who does not believes that well-fitting N95 masks are not effective-
To safely remove gloves:
Using a gloved hand pinch the other hand's glove up high and strip it down, and ball it up in the gloved hand. Now with the bare hand, poke a finger down into the inside of the remaining glove and strip it down to enclose the balled up glove and dispose.
Placating Angry Old Tom with a sop does nothing to forward knowledge.

It is nearly impossible to reason with someone who does not believes that well-fitting N95 masks are not effective-- pretty much 100% effective-- against the virus. If masks didn't work, all of our doctors would have gotten COVID before the vaccines were available.

The virus is smaller than the gaps in N95 mask fibers, that is true. However, the fibers have an electrostatic charge which capture the virus. Here is a pretty cool explanation of how they work. If this doesn't convince anyone, I don't know what will.

I literally stake my life on them. In the spring, I saw infected young adults immediately after they got out of quarantine (and when they were probably still contagious) and I know I wound up seeing a few who tested a positive a day or two after I saw them. I did limit indoor exposure time when I could, but if someone had something really private they wanted to discuss, we'd work indoors for 10 or 15 minutes in a tiny room with terrible ventilation.
Talking reasonably is always good. Now consider the not-so-thoughtful people simply obeying orders from on high. So you're wearing a mask to the restaurant. Instructions are given you to take down the mask for taking each bite of food. You just touched the contaminated mask surface and now you grab the sandwich with the same hand and put it to your mouth and wipe the messy mayo and lick it.
That's LIFE. You have to consider real life wrt to the crazy orders being given and their utility for a given function, What are normal and stupid people going to do to f themselves up? They are not the same as you.

I also wonder about the skill of the folks giving injections, as HB noted upthread, though from what I've read, it's usually the shoulder that causes problems.
Injecting into the wrong butt muscle, I've never witnessed it not done incorrectly out of 5 or 6 instances. I used to get tonsils problems as a kid and doc would just about kill me each time. Then I saw it done to 2 kids.
Iatrogenic injuries due to intramuscular (IM) injection, although less frequently reported than before, are still common. The sciatic nerve is the most commonly injured nerve because of an IM injection owing to its large size and the buttock being a common injection site. Iatrogenic injury to the sciatic nerve resulting from a misplaced gluteal IM injection is a persistent problem worldwide affecting patients in economically rich and poor countries alike. The consequences of sciatic nerve injection injury (SNII) are potentially devastating and may result in serious neurological and medico-legal problems. A 68-year-old male presented with intractable neuropathic pain from SNII that occurred during gluteal IM injection of an analgesic for post-appendectomy pain. This chronic SNII pain did not improve despite his gradual recovery from weakness in the left foot. Partial improvement was seen following an external neurolysis, performed three months post-appendectomy. SNII is a preventable complication of gluteal IM injection. While the complete avoidance of gluteal IM injection is desirable, should need arise, the use of an appropriate administrative technique is recommended.

that's how stupid your argument is; you're insisting that what is a usual name-calling from one side just does not occur.
I would not know I don't listen to antivaxxers anymore I heard way to much stupid from them. so if they said it will thats on them because as usual calling something you are seems pretty typical. but see you don't have medicine or facts on your side no matter how many articles and videos you post. your argument should have been dead but you keep shocking it with the paddles and bringing it back to life. like you were obsessed or keep drinking the Koolaide or something

Sure, there's often considerable overlap between the three groups, that's fair. But I think group three is likely to contain people with the widest variety of motivations. You'll have folks who think the vaccine has microchips, the 5G folks, anti-science and crackpot religious folks, sure, but also people who've been burned by the US health care system, people who have chronic illnesses, allergies, etc., and people who just become outraged when authority figures talk down to them. I would have far less patience with people from group 1 or group 2 than people from the subset of group 3 that's pissed about happy talk-- and, sometimes, flat out lies-- from the CDC or FDA, or who have asked sensible, health-related questions about the vaccine and gotten only sound bites for an answer.

For reference, "group three" is "people vehemently opposed to getting vaccinated".

That sounds plausible, but the data tells a different story. County-by-county COVID-19 vaccination rates across the Untied States closely track the percentage that voted Democratic in the 2020 election. There are some variations and of course some outliers but that trend is crystal clear nationwide. What we end up with is a situation where you are five times more likely to die from COVID if you live in a county that strongly went Republican in the 2020 election versus a county that strongly went Democratic.

I have to wonder about a political ideology that requires adherents prove their loyalty by dying a preventable death. And I have to wonder how much sense that makes as a political strategy in a nation that seems split pretty close to 50-50 between Republicans and Democrats. Not that I would want to discourage anyone from following their own conscience, mind you.

This anti-vax sentiment is spreading to other vaccines…like a virus.
Very poor management is causing that; excess and stupidly applied force, lies, and aiming at kids to encourage them to disobey parents by bribing them with ice cream parties. bribing adults with brothel visits, beer, admission to events, and punishments for refusing even if medically advised.

No, you tell a different story based on your beliefs about the data and correlations you believe are causes. Then you think you have data talking to you.

man that kool aid must be laced with something.

bribing adults with brothel visits
Now you're making me feel like I didn't get a very good deal on my dose. All I got was a pamphlet and a band-aid. Maybe you have to get BINGO on your vax card to get one of the good prizes.

Although now the inclusion of pregnancy as one of the adverse events associated with the vaccines in the VAERS database makes a lot more sense.
